Awesome. As for the doubling of tops, I’m assuming that without a trellis, those other 60ish potential tops will be below the upper canopy yeah?

If you leave them under giant fan leaves they will stay down there. But myself, I just crop them out of the way if it’s cutting of light to a badass spot. Tuck leaves, ect. It really depends you know?

I do know in theory, just not in practice yet..

I guess what things boil down to for me in this moment is wether or not I should trellis or just how for them best with some hands on work in terms of the whole canopy being stable. Air flow checks and humidity checks out, but I’m not sure how to go about keeping buds from touching. Because at that point airflow ain’t happening.

So order a trellis now, or hang tight with leaving it open, and look for guidance with hands on spacing and stakes when the time comes? I’m down for either. Not using a trellis just seems nice for being able to move pots but I’m open.

I prefer stakes too, keeps you able to move and rotate plants. But, I will toss a trellis if I can see it’s gonna get wacky. There are growers here who double trellis too, which is a pretty great way to keep them off each other. Another layer really helps in that regard.

Makes sense. Does it look like things might get whacky in here?

Its possible, every strain is different, but you could also be timing it perfect. It’s really a guessing game with new genetics you haven’t ran before you know?

My current flowering room status. One side, all self supporting, the other, I have a floating trellis.

Okay in that case I’ll go ahead and order a trellis to keep on hand just in case. I’ll grab one that’s a 36 grid for the lower net and one that’s 100 grid for the upper. Thank you for your patience with me :))

You’re more than welcome.
It’s not patience as much as a killer correspondence with a wonderful novice.
Keep up the great work.
Good plan on those nets. 👊🏻

I hear trim work is the worst! This is kinda like my trim work. Today’s work is harvesting and processing about 40 pounds of salad.View attachment 2071638
Nice! Yes trim jail is rough.
I hate it.
So does everyone else in my house. Lizard dogs and cats included hahahaha.

I’m noticing that I can smell the plants in the room my tent is in. I put my nose up to the carbon filter which is on the outside of the tent and I can clearly pickup the scent. Surely it can do better during veg right!?

I have an acinfinity 6” fan and filter combo. Is this normal in your experience or did I get a bunk filter?

If I employ two tiers of trellis netting, small squares on the top and large squares on the bottom, or vice versa?

Trellis should be here in about 5 days. I still have some vertical height to play with. Cool to flip a few days before I get that installed? Am I crazy to not flip today or does it look reasonable to give it another 3-5 days so that I can maximize my tent to the absolute extreme!?

Oh and I cleared out the bottom 1/3 or so, but that’s like nothing with how low they are trained. I suppose I’ll keep trimming them until 21 days into flowering or so until the bottom 1/3 of the final plant height will be lollipopped?

If I am going to use a screen, I can’t imagine effectively pruning the back plants once they are committed to position. I’m thinking I’ll install the screen maybe halfway through the stretch, and then put another one in during the final stretch push?

The screen/s will just be for support, not a scrog, so I assume there isn’t any need to feel rushed to get one put in, correct?

You’ll be good until the time it gets there.
Don’t defoliate up to day 21, no more pruning or removal of leaves until day 21 or flower now. Let the plant heal and stretch in the meantime, then do a final defol.

Cool thanks. And hang tight in veg? I’ve got 2 and half more vertical inches to work with.

Actually that brings up a question. I was able to contact two people who have grown this strain. They both had a maximum of 2.66 stretch. I’ve been using that as my benchmark. However, neither of them kept them as veg for as long as me. Theirs were like 5-6 weeks if I remember correctly. I’m gonna push to about 7 weeks. Do plants that are in veg longer stretch more? Obviously if you just flipped from seed they would stretch 10x or whatever. But you know what I mean.

The bigger the plant, really has no bearing on the genetics. Wait and see, since you are growing it a bit longer, sure it’s going to be bigger all around, but genetics are genetics. As long as what they said is true, then you are gravy I think.
