Hey Seraphim... Wowza, that BBB is one sexy girl. Okay, no more teasing, what do I have to do to get some beans of this. lol She has gotta be one of the loveliest plants I've seen, but to be an Auto even more impressive. Your photos are being shared by me along with your tutorials and AF words of guidance with many friends and M8te.. you are changing a lot of minds about Auto's and their lack of size/yield and potency too.. Just wanted to say thanks and I too am sold.. Looking forward to seeing that Reserve finish also.. cheers

Man, I just spent a little over 3wks growing 6 Bogglegum.. 2 were just quitters and so I started growing the other 4.. flipped them and thought I had 2 ladies.. nope. All 4 males. This is what I love about Auto's, I knew the sex of my plants in 2wks. culled my males and 50 days later had harvestable buds that are very potent.. so tired of vegging for weeks to have bad luck on males, not always but still... just blows. Started with 7, now have 1..not cool. And when one has no room for mom's or cloning, Auto's just make more sense to me bro.. now I just need something better.

As always its all changed in the grow cupboard again.

The Russian Dragon x Think Different turned out to be male so it had to go, taking its place will be Special Reserve. I have got 10 Special Reserve growing at the minute, 2 or 3 will make the cut and get grown out to finishing. these plants will be the mothers for the reversed Special Reserve I am doing in another thread so they will appear in both.

I am not going to fully pollinate the SR though, I will pollinate about a third of each plant and leave the rest so I get some smoke too.

These plants will make an appearance as soon as they are selected.

For now it seems we are down to 3 plants so let me show you how they are doing

First up is Big Daddy.
I am having real issues with soil at the minute this girl had a low soil ph and had to be treated quickly.
I think I need to switch soil brand. Hopefully she will recover as I think I caught it early. She also showed signs of cal/mad deficiency so I added powdered eggshell to the soil and some molasses to the feed. I topped this plant as she was getting too tall for the space and her stem didn't want to bend for training.

Here is Sweet Talker.
She is doing ok could be better but she was always going to be a small plant its in the genes. She is a connoisseur strain not a commercial one. The smoke is out of this world but you don't get a lot!
A few little issues but nothing worth bothering with now as she is in her final few weeks. I am expecting her to go for 2-3 weeks and be dried and in a jar ready for 420
She has decided to go purple, which happens a lot with this strain as it nears the end of its life

This one is British Blue Blood.
As you can see the colour has come back fully and she is in good health. She started to bush out again so I tightened her restraints and spread her out a bit more to make sure all the bud sites got some direct light. I am expecting her to go for another 3-4 weeks but she is worth the wait, the smell is unbelievable!

Yes the powdered eggshell works within a few days for me.
I use a pestle and mortar and grind up the dried shell until it is powder, then I make about 6 deep holes around the plant using a pen or chopstick and I sprinkle two thirds of the eggshell(2 whole eggshells per 10l of soil) down the holes then I mix the rest into the top inch of soil and water it in.

That British BB is a total show off man. hehe.. Yes, she is a favorite of mine and hitting her with Special Reserve sounds like it may just make a Special BBB strain to master and backcross.. one thing I've noticed with Auto's is the males show fast and by the time the ladies show, produce viable sex organs, the males have just started to open pollen sacs.. leave him in a few days and walla.. you don't lose your crop to seed.. I did that and got around 100 beans off 3 girls, another reason I"m loving growing with AF genetics.. just suits my needs. Started more of my Bubblegun and a few NYCD autos... so for now I'll drool over yours buddy... lol

Its all a bit hectic at the minute so I have a quick update this time.

Sweet talker came down and is drying, big daddy was given to a friend as it was getting too big for the grow space and British blue blood is about to come down. I am going to check the BBB tomorrow so she will either come down tomorrow or next week. One way or another she will be ready to smoke for 420

For now that leaves me with a bit of space to play with so I need your help! I have added some Sour Diesel Haze to the grow but I still have space for 2 more plants so -

What do you want me to grow next?

Treacle - Sweet medical strain
High Octane - NYCD cross
Green Beret - Dank AK47 cross
S.A.80 - Sweet AK47 cross
The Blitz - Afghan hash cross medical strain
Grapefruit
Pineapple Express
Moonstone

I only have pics of the BBB this time so here she is in all her glory, you can see that she is going purple/blue.

What's the blue blood's age to finish? She looks to of recovered nicely!! I'm about to take down my Vertigo, she's going about 20 days longer then suggested by breeder..
Do you think that has anything to do with continuing veg feed into flowering, causing it to stretch the flower period??

Blue blood runs at 10 - 12 weeks from breaking ground to harvest. With a little more work I hope to get this down to 10 weeks give or take 7 days.

I can tell you that the length of time that autos go has nothing to do with continuing veg feed into flowering. The truth of it is that most Breeders/Seed banks tell lies! There are not many of us that are willing to tell the cold honest truth as most are just trying to sell their product. When you look at the market and see that there are a lot of seeds out there that promise around 60 days from seed to harvest(also lies) you can understand why they feel pressured to say their seeds will be finished in around the same time.

The true timeline for autos is that regular autos will take 10 weeks/70 days from breaking ground to harvest and for super autos you can expect them to take 13 weeks/90 days.

That is not to say that you cant get the plants to finish in that timeframe, but if you do I can guarantee that you will not be getting the best out of them.

Thanks for the suggestions I have just put down some High Octane, I still need to put down one more strain so next suggestion by someone else gets put in the mix too.

S.A.80 ... Is my choice. I want to see how it performs in comparison to my AK47 x Sour60 I'm so in love with. The Sour60 is BOG's Sour Bubble turned Auto making the 60. But I feel it's a 70 day lady to get the most out of her, a bit racy yet at 60, especially the Sativa, AK47 properties.. so would love to see her if possible..

Hey Seraphim.. Man, I didn't realize how much Sativa was in your BBB until now as I see the long fingered leaf in a more mature state.. she sure is a pretty plant that really fills out for a girl who hasn't been topped.. Hey, I wanted to show ya something..
I'm on my 2nd run of this AK47 x Sour60. I got 3 ladies, 2 were twins. So I thought, might be a good time to do a side by side comparison, so I did.. one I did nothing to but remove lowest branches, the other I F.I.M. cut a week or so into flowering. Now one thing it did achieve was it slowed down the flowering time on the FIM cut plant and the branching starting growing below and created more bud sites.. Here is a good comparison for ya..

Here is the one I did not FIM cut... below her the one I did... boy what a change..

Now to see what the final weight difference is if any and see if it's worth repeating..
I finally traded a guy and got some new Auto's to try too... very hopeful for sure..
cheers

I finally got around to taking some pics so I could show you the set up and the girls.

I forgot to take pictures of the sweet talker but you can see her(hopefully, reg seed) in the background in one of the shots I will show her off properly next time.

I will be doing these plants in a converted cupboard(stealth).

Just a normal wardrobe lined in mylar with a few holes in the back for air intake
I have got 2 usb powered fans to circulate air through the canopy, and I will be replacing the 4" intake fan that was in the hole on the right.

View attachment 481373

Up above I have got the carbon filter and fan attached to the top. The white light is a 135w 3w led light(90w actual draw) and the black one is a 180 w 3w led light with optical lenses (120w actual draw).
I also have a clip on fan for air circulation and the other clip on fan on the door is just helping to keeping temps under control until the new intake fan arrives.
View attachment 481374

The lights are on a 20 hrs on 4 hrs off cycle and will remain this way forever!

I will be using bio bizz grow, bloom and possibly top max. the only other thing I plan to use is molasses.

I used regular garden centre soil with a few little bits added.

Soil mix
70% garden centre soil
30% perlite
1 tablespoon bat guano per 10 litres
2 powdered egg shells per 10 litres

This is my British Blue Blood at 19 days old. She is in a 16 litre root pouch pot.
View attachment 481388
She is growing well, but is demanding more nutrients as she is a little pale, so I will be upping her dosage next feed.
View attachment 481389

These two are Special Reserve. It is a small to medium sixed plant that finishes quickly. it also has extreme power, trich coverage, and a flavour like no other! This strain doesn't leave the farm, hence the name special reserve.

the first one is about a week old and the second one is about 3 days old. The first one is in an 8 litre root pouch pot and the second one is in a 6 litre airpot.

This next one is purple people eater. It is in its early days and I can see it needing at least 3-4 generations before I get it where I want it to be. right now I am testing for phenos and seeing which ones I will be using to take the project forward.

She is in a 6 litre airpot
