I upgraded a Roleadro. Just switched the cobs with clu048 1212 3000k, was easy and the cover fit back on without any mods.

I only used it for a week! lol. Then it got switched out for a DIY cob light. Then I upgraded the Roleadro, still havent used it yet though. To answer your question though, it worked fine for the time I did use it and the girls responded. Even with their crappy chinese cobs

The bridgelux vero is a top quality cob.seen a few guys hack the roladro box with better cobs.
Have you looked into the quantum boards at northern grow lights? Sounds about perfect for your small tent.they have a single board kit that is 1 board,1 driver,1 heatsink kinda plug n play and these are very bright boards with top bin diodes.i have 4 here and just plugged in 2 of them to see how bright they are and i was amazed at the amount of light these things put out.

just out of curiosity, which driver is it that comes with that single 90w board kit?

LMAO I had that same thing open on another tab, great minds think alike!
I'm going to see if I cant find the parts(or their equivilants) myself and get it a wee bit cheaper.
Of course unless its all on amazon or something with free shipping, it would probably be about the same if I sourced the parts from 2 or 3 sites. I guess we shall see!

DHgate will have the best prices but you have to wait for international shipping
I bought an Enail from there for about 1/5 the price of other places

nice. I like the full spectrum cobs too. 50w or 100w. four 50w cobs 30-32v can run on am neanwell driver HLG-185H-C1400B for 200w setup. low cost and you an use the heat sinks and fans and put them in a frame.

Put a plug on the end, connect it to your cob with holder and heat sink $50, driver $5, wiring $10. good luck. 50w under $100

No dice on link, anybody got any lumen numbers? Trying to budget cost of grow room, HPS vs LED or combo in between, but I need light output specs to calculate. Thanks.

3x 1212's ($15-20) driven at 0.5A each on the 140mm pin heat sink $20. HLG-185H-C500a $50,
total inclidung miscs should be around $100 per engine. I'm not exactly sure, but I'm under impression that this engine has 50%+ efficiency. If you scale up - you can fit 3 engines on this driver and that will be $73 per engine and that what I build when I had extra PIN's laying around. If you want dyi - ditch cob's idea - F series gen 3 is the way to go now for less $ and better efficiency and coverage.

20xf564b with 2x 480h-48b 20x1" heatsinks around $500 + $200
Now double it for $1.5k
20 strips at 1a will cover 4x8 very nicely 950w). 2 of these strips equal exactly 1 qb288 just to give you an idea, 20 strips is equal to 10x qb288 :)
