Thanks lead, updates coming right after this.

Welcome. Girls are looking good, sure bushed out!

RE: leadsled

lead like the metal, sled like a car....

Originally, the lead sled referred to extensively repaired/modified cars because of the use of lead as body filler and was, for the most part, an insult.
Since the introduction of artificial fillers (such as Bondo), the term has come to mean a post-war, large (full size) American car of the 1950s.
A lead sled tends to have all extra side moldings shaved off and filled with the suspension lowered. Lead sleds are built for style, not speed. Some common lead sleds are the 1949 Mercury, 1949 Ford and the 1959 Cadillac.

a picture speaks a thousand words... :)

Keep up the good work.

^ha! thanks for the clarification.

for a while, i was reading it as leads-led..then, led sled, and then leed sled. So, glad to have that sorted within my brain..lol

thanks for the words man. i'll be flipping here soon.

No problem, did not realize it was not that obvious.

Looking forward to the flowers, subscribed for the show. Hope you have a successful run.

you username make me think of the sfzoo and it is a foggy place easy to get pm.

If you ever had pm before, a quick tip:
You got a sulfur burner? maybe do a quick burn for mold prevention.

May be fine without it, but better safe than sorry.

-Lead

yeah, i live near the zoo.
yeah, its foggy and moist.
yeah, i've had PM problems.

To deal:
-Zone and Penetrator/Saturater foliar, weeks 1 & 2.
-Weekly Sulfur burns, until week 5 or so.
-Cleaning my intake filter regularly, i believe this to be the reason for poor circulation last run.
-Green Cure on hand for weeks 5-8.

There is too much PM here in SF, in Norcal, in California!!

Sulfur Q:

I'm kind of a rookie at burning sulfur. I've got some hardened sulfur in the cup, will this just melt and burn as usual if I heat it up? or do i have to heat it to loosen and then empty and refill?

debating weather, for maintainance, i should burn once for longer periods...or more frequent at shorter periods. Not sure yet.
..i know, more research is in order

Cool, I know all about the fog, even if you get away from the beach. That fog is not going anywhere....

Wow quite a regmine there. I find the hardened sulfur can be left and just keep using.

more frequent shorter period should be fine. most burners are designed for 1000sq foot room so in a smaller room coats everything in less than an hour.

I find after one or two applications can smell the sulphur has coated everything, so seems to be enough.

also by not using cold wet air from outside (where it is foggy) then way less odds of any pm or condensation problems.

Once you get the temp/rh dialed, I find the cold weather is an advantage.

Hope that helps.

Thanks a ton bro. I just posted up in another thread asking these questions and come back here to find the answers.

The air i'm using is, ultimately, from the outside. But, it is a room inside a garage..so i'm not sure if that makes a difference.

I also find that the cold is advantageous. Thanks for the tips!!

Damn dude even with that hair cut your plants are still looking super bushy and not to mention very healthy. Your plants are pretty stacked. Definitely not very much space between the leaf sets.:harvest: I think your yield will be better since you hacked off the tops. That way the light will cover everything instead of having tons of leaves and branches in darkness.

Dude those bulb rings are a pretty good idea! nice one!

thanks Justice, those rings would have been helpful last run. But, always making improvements and learning along the way is what its about.

Jahgydi, thanks for stopping in. Yeah, its been shitty, but you live and learn.

minor update:

Flipped on Sunday.
Hit the girls w/ a minor dose of zone for a few feedings. Fungus Gnats.
Upped the silica to harden off those new shoots.
The girls seem unaffected by the massive haircut, they're still growing right along.

Show is starting :rock

I truly and sincerely hope they're only fungus gnats.
yep, gonna flip this weekend. maybe saturday.

they seem to have not been stressed to much from the severe topping, thankfully.

as far as support, i'm considering my options.
one of which, i read on IC, is DHFs(i think he gave credit to Krusty) chicken wire stapled to the ceiling. He then ties the colas to string hanging from the chicken wire.

stakes...
cages..
net...

must decide quick
Indeed! You're creating a true jungle in there and will want for access I think. I would be hesitant to use anything that I can't move the girls from/through/out of. Does that make sense? I'm going to get a buttload of tomato cages, but I've seen people come up with other solutions. Not sure how that would work with your grow bags, though.

DHF has given me some great advice over the years, it just takes me a little while to pick up what he's puttin' down sometimes.

Wow... It was looking like a jungle in there sfzoo... Hope you kept a few branches to practice your cloning tech for the next round... :thinking

-well, i hope they are only fungus gnats. what you think they might be otherwise?
-a jungle indeed, but these girls won't all be staying in here
-tomato cages seem like a good idea. Depends on how many will stay. I'll have a final count tomorrow. The rest go into a tent with a trellise.
-DHF is a pot full of knowledge. Don't know him, or have had any contact. I just read it in someone elses journal. But i know what you mean, he says a lot and packs a whole lot into what he types.

Lol, i did, but i only took 50 out of ALL that trimming. We'll see if that damn heating mat does me any good.

Sending good vibes your way :)

Thanks bro. Its good to have extra sets of eyes during a cycle.

We're now here in week2 and i'm finally approaching cruise control :character0053: It was a lot of work that stemmed from the male situation and its all finally coming back together.

I've got all the girls xplanted into 2gals, and i think i got them just in time..
here's some shots

so now they have a little room to move while they stretch..

Here's the :very_first_smiley:Alien Only stadium, they're gonna get big. I hope i'm not unprepared for what is to come
http://i957.invalid.com/albums/ae53/sfzoo/stadium/IMG_6035.jpg

Now that leaves the SFVOG and DeadheadOG to deal with.
First, rearranged tents
http://i957.invalid.com/albums/ae53/sfzoo/stadium/IMG_6008-1.jpg

Then the cooltube install, and screen install
http://i957.invalid.com/albums/ae53/sfzoo/stadium/IMG_6014.jpg

Finally, SFVOG and Deadhead OG install
http://i957.invalid.com/albums/ae53/sfzoo/stadium/IMG_6042.jpg

The canopy was uneven, so i lowered the screen and started tucking and weaving.
Also had my first go at supercropping. Its strangely addicting. Gotta restrain myself...:aikido:

And some heavy duty lollipopping
http://i957.invalid.com/albums/ae53/sfzoo/stadium/IMG_6062.jpg
http://i957.invalid.com/albums/ae53/sfzoo/stadium/IMG_6064.jpg

I'm probably gonna shave their legs once more after the stretch. I'm also going to install another screen when colas start reaching.

Almost an even canopy

^From that photo, you can really see where the light is lacking..right in the center where the duct is.
I think I have 2 options. Connect a third tube and run 1800w. But I don't have the funds for a new ballast and bulb. Or, I can just let it grow.
For now, it shall be to let it grow. When i can, i'll get new bulb and ballast.

First time scrogging(sorta), first time supercropping, and first time running tubes. So any input is appreciated.

Thanks for looking!

Lol, I got no input other than it looks great :)

Instead of adding another light (and this isn't a "now" suggestion as much as an "in the future" suggestion), maybe sub out the cooltubes and get some different (better) reflectors?

Cooltubes are great for cooling lights, but suck balls as actual reflectors...........get a couple of Magnums (or any legit reflector) in there - just my $.02.

Yeah bro, just took another look at your pics - looking healthy and nice, but with two legit reflectors that'll look righteous :)

And contrary to what you said, I hope that you are unprepared for all the nugs you're gonna get outta your stadium room :)

Stay green, bro.

SFzoo, I've got the 'noids about root aphids because I was hit this last run with them. Even though they're eradicated, they SERIOUSLY impacted yield. Fortunately, my samples are good quality.

Here you did all that clean-up work, then you went and Txplanted them, they're gonna explode on ya!

May your growing be fruitful and flowery.

Ohh man... This is gonna be interesting! Great start and adaption sfzoo... :cool

damn zoo, way to blow things up. you could try using a bungee/yoyo or something to get the ducting up little bit higher and help stop it from blocking the light.
looking forward to the flowers. wishing you good vibes and zero problems.

I'm liking that sideways tent scrog man! Can't wait to see how that turns out. Super cropping with the screen should provide some nice support.

Your roots are crazy! I need to get mine to look like that!
