Starting March 1 Ish

Hi. This is a new grow journal. I have decided to run the MCOB at 240 watts with the 315 CMH in the tent at the same time. The MCOB is 550 watts with all 9 lamps on so the end result will be the same (555 watts for the two). 6 inch vortex with a scrubber...

6 inch vortex with a scrubber

Lots of fans

3 autopots with 2 trainkwreck and 1 jack herer.

4 x 4 x 6 1/2 tent.

Running GH hydro line.

Babies are in solo cups at the 4th node right now. As soon as I see some amber trichs on the white rhino and cheese I will have a better time frame. I will dry in the tent for a week and then clean and sterilize everything and start this round.

Can I ask why you're limiting it to 555 watts?

Well I might go all 550 plus 315. Heat is the trick of it and i want to see the difference from running the scorpion itself and the 315. If I limit the scorpion to roughly the same wattage I can see which trainkwreck grows more. I can do 240 watts or 300 watts or 550 watts on the scorpion. Maybe 300 and 315 is more comparable

After this round I will sell the 550 watt scorpion and buy some samsung quantum stuff. I need 2 lights. 1 for a 4 x 4 and one for a 1 x 3 tent. My vero covers the small tent the rest is superfluous.

865 watts is probably a bit overkill for a 4x4 but if there's not a heat issue I suppose you can give it a shot. 54 watts sq/ft

Autopots are cleaned and sterilized. My last grow was screwed up because two of the lines were plugged. So clean is good.

The first 3 show the mcob light. I can turn on the 4 corners or everything but the 4 corners (62 watts per). I had to open it to tighten a hanger.

The 3 autopots showing how i fill them. Cleaned and phd hydroton pellts, 2 or 3 inches of growcubes and then 50 50 perlite/coco. I was running low in coco so grow cubes to the rescue.

Trimmed last night. Humidity was lower in the tent than last dry so it was perfect to jar today. Then I cleaned things up and put it all in the tent. The reservoir doesn't[ fit outside of the tent quite right but I am working on it. For now it is in the tent.

Reservoir has 1.5/1,5/2/1 ml per gallon calmag/micro/grow/bloom nutes

PH 6.0 TDS 580

I turned the res on but i will top water for the next few days until they start really growing.

And I stuck to 2 train wreck and 1 jack herer. Lets see what happens :D. Updates will be every Friday moving forward unless something stupid happens.

Friday pic. I realized the water was not yet turned on so things should start going gangbusters now. :)

The MCOB is vegging a little better than the 315 but it is too early to tell.

I ended up turning the MCOB off for now. The 3 babys can veg fine with the 315 solo. My temp in the tent (about 16 inches above the tops) is 81F when i turn on 4 of the MCOBS (248 watts) it goes to 89 degrees. I will check it out at flower and might get a tiny huey to get the VPD right at that heat but for now they can truck along at 80.

So the MCOBS run hotter than the 315. Thinking of one or the other for my next grow. That won't be for awhile but interested in your end results. I'm still using MH veg to HPS flower.

I actually use HPS in both veg and flower, I find it gives me a lot better and stronger growth @FarmerDi

My last grow did the same thing. Using the MH for veg this time. Appears the girls don't stretch as much under the MH as they do with the HPS. Though not sure about growth... I'm training them hard so it is difficult to compare.

They definitely stretch more for sure! I always try my best to keep the lights as close as possible while trying to avoid any burn or heat stress, they tend to stay lovely and bushy and nice and thick, I've just started a diary on one of my setups, it's relatively simple check it out! :)

My king tut grow (the first photo grow I ever did) I had a jack and it was stellar but it was so tiny because king tut took over the tent. I do love the effect of Jack Herer.

One of the train wrecks is a bit discoloured but I am dialing in the PH. The low humidity tent is going to change nutes this round. I will be light on the nutes because they will uptake a lot of water. I am 35 to 40% humidity constantly and a perfect 78 degrees at full light (315 CMH only)

I've dropped RH to 20% late in flower to stress them and promote more resin production, I didn't notice much difference my self, it was something I read up on and was recommended by other growers. If your in full control of your rooms environment give it a try! (Read up on it first)

What are your impressions on the CMH? I'm a HPS fan myself, but sometimes get distracted by the CMHs and are thinking Of giving them a go.
