What an interesting direction this thread took. lol.

Getting back to the matter at hand....

Make sometime to come down to the capital next week and speak to the lawmakers (There is almost guaranteed to be a marijuana related hearing any day of the week next week). I don't care what you want to say to the lawmakers. I just want you to say it. I am more than happy to give you some pointers on how to do this effectively.

However, I'd prefer you all come down there to vertical integration is not the right model. MMIG a CBA lobbied for VI and they are surely fighting for it now.

The session ends in two weeks from now - and time and tides wait for no man....

Get in touch with me if you want any help getting your voice heard.

Have any of you been keeping an ear on ole Eric "two face" Holder? It's going to be interesting to see what they do once the final outline of A64 is implemented. It's going to suck if all this hard work gets put in the back burner if the Fed drops the hammer.

and BTW I do not think "lobbying" is where it's at. (see Wiki definition, if needed)

It should be the sole vote of the people and not under-the-table payoffs and high-end hooker dates to persuade a bunch of corrupted clowns in suitcoats who are pretending to represent the people. Fuck lobbying...it's just a sugar-coated Orwellian wording for Mafiaso payoffs.

"Political activism" is a bullshit term. Our so called political system is terribly corrupted and broken at all levels. It needs to be tore down and REAL change must come from the grassroot level.
Political activism ! what a joke.
That takes the will of the people, which imo, is why the country is shit...the people. Ppl in general don't pay nearly enough attention to politics. It's a massively complex system that requires individuals to particiate collectively w like minded ppl in order to gain what u seek. Democracy doesn't work for the ppl. The ppl are supposed to work for democracy, ie you get what u put in. Ppl have been slacking since for a long time .and now when shit isn't working for them anymore, turn around and blame the system. Is the system perfect? No, but thus far it had been one of the.longest lasting democracies throughout history.

Man someone tried that already remember "put out the doobie" that one session

Shitty cat looking things with long beaks. Hahahahahaha

Just saw on the news that there may be a bill intro'd today to keep the model static and reflecting the MMJ model for one year with VI in place. Evidently VI is still the model they are looking at because they fear that opening it up to contract growers would fuel the Black market.

They also said the bill would prohibit out-of-state investors.

Hopefully they will figure something out and make a statement so the FEDS can weigh in and we can see if it was all a waste of time.

The Federal Schedule issue is the main thing propping up the price right now. When that changes, prices will also fall. Weed is already going east from Colorado by the ton, the Fed thing is what determines the price.

There is going to be another real problem coming in the marketplace, however; people will hear the low commodity prices, then insist they pay that same price for top quality chronic... and us farmers are gonna tell them to fuck off. How this plays out is actually up to US: if we as a group start offering our products along a continuum of prices based on quality, we can break through their "commodity pricing" assumptive model, and create value for our higher quality goods.

As Farmers, we can do this, and it is in our best interest individually and collectively to do so.
Thanks for your insightful comments on this issue. I know this is an old thread but the issue is just as pertinent today.
