I've come to the understanding that a chiller is an important step when it comes to the success of the UC system...Can you explain why you didn't need to have a chiller?

CaliShark - The UC is a mad machine when it comes to oxygen concentration in the water. Combined with a suitable grow room temperature allowing for more than suitable water temperature and you're pretty much set with a sterile nute solution. :yes

So as along as the temperature in the grow room is relatively low, then the UC system should have no problem working the way that it should? That's good news, because chillers are damn expansive, now this makes it possible to run UC for cheaper.

The rooms looking great also, I like the idea of UC and scrog together and looking forward to the results.

Fresh - Word. Just took some fans off and topped every growth tip to try and get them bushier like yours. Your batch made it in 3 weeks before mine for comparison, dieing for stalks as thick as the Grem Chem in the same duration.

What temperature do you keep your room at? how many btu per thousand watt? I know you have all your hoods ducted but there must be more to it than that... Summer heat is a killer too. when you did run a chiller it was just out of the mini res correct?

crossouttheiis - 80-85*F for all the ladies. Just a 12k btu for the 3k/6 light room. The other rooms are passively ventilated.

Bloom lights always run 9pm-9am, hours when it's 50s-60s where I'm located. Makes everything a breeze.

The UC comes with the chiller fitting to connect to the epicenter. You remove the gray T-fitting from the pump return and slip your chiller input in its place.

Ha, oh i havent even opened my undercurrent yet. still sitting in boxes. that and the chiller. I know as soon as I open it up I will want to set it up and start tinkering around. We havent got the electrical work done yet and are waiting for the electrician. So it is probably better it stays in the box so I dont have to take it apart ha.

That's a great deal of patience you've got! I'm like a kid on Christmas morning every time I get a UC, 30 minutes later it's laid out doing an impressive dry run.

haha yeah I know,but thats alright. I am going away for a week and a few days. Should be a nice break, then back to crunch time. What did the star trek you grew smell like?

I don't recall the smell to be honest. But I'll lie and say PB&J, because that sounds good right now.
