Nice to meet you One drop, i was just looking at your photo album and saw your chickens!! some look just like mine!! but not nearly as cool as your avatar.. how did you make your buds look like a chicken? bud sculpting, i love it!!!! i really like the pics of your dogs too, sorry to hear about the one having a bad hip.

i had four chickens but three of them were killed by a fox. so i bought four more pullets and it has just been two weeks now. the hen was a bit of a bully and i had to separate them for a few days but now they seem to be kissin cousins already. clucking about and taking food from each other beaks!! the new pullets don't like me yet but they will. they're starting to warm up a little but still don't like to be held yet. in time.....

i also have some fruit trees too... no orchard or anything but three peaches and one apricot. the apricot is pretty old and the peaches are just a few years old. this might be the first year of significant fruit...

View attachment 976729

i'll trim them before next spring i think... i need to wait till they're tall enough so when the fruit umbrellas the branches down they stay taller than a deers lips can reach!!! hehe

Thanks for introducing yourself and getting to meet ya, have a great weekend!!!!!!

Hey brother!!! I put that $14 trailer jack on primarily just to roll it around, then i quickly learned it makes it perfect to level the smoker no mater where i park it!!!!! it was an instant winner the moment i put it on there!!!!

my UPS driver wants me to make him a smoker... he offered to buy mine but i was like hell no!! i have five brand new heating fuel tanks up at my inherited house up north, ya know those big 275 gallon suckers. i was thinking of turning them all into smokers and selling them.

.

got some more gardening done today... it was raining out but nice and dry in the greenhouse!!!! tomatoes on the left and hot peppers on the right and cucumbers right in the middle...

i went a little sadistic with the peppers this year... carolina reapers, ghost chilis, trinidad scorpions, habineros, and for flavor i have a bunch of jalapenos!!

View attachment 976730

it looks like my asparagus is going to give me a harvest this year... i think this is the fifth year i've been growing it and still haven't got to try it yet!!! haha

View attachment 976746

got my earthboxes in place too... still got to build the new soil and fill em up but i'm getting closer... i'm going to grow green beans in two of them and maybe herbs in the other two. maybe lettuce but i'm not sure, we don't eat much lettuce so maybe herbs are better.

I hope you get to enjoy the rest of your weekend man!!!!

those earthboxes are pretty cool man, they have a section in the bottom that holds water and in two lower corners you pack soil in them and the rest of the bottom has a screen to keep the soil out of the water. but the corners wick the water up into the soil section. i just put those bags on there to help the wicking overnight. some of the soil was pretty dry. i top watered it too... it usually takes some time to get it all primed and working well. but once it's all moist and ready for plants or seeds. then all you need to do is put water down a tube until it runs out of a hole in the front, then you know its all watered!!! they make fancy auto watering tubes that you can hook up to a hose... i just water the things once a week and that's it... they also make special bonnets that fit tightly over the top but a bag and bungie cords work just as good!!!

they can get pricey but they always have a great sale once a year.... and they last forever... that original one has been in my family for like twenty years now!!!

Something about the margarita colored boxes...has some extra mojo to 'em
I'm running mine topless this year so they get rain and also kind of a test because I'm about to start one loaded with chive seeds which will be topless.
The only thing I notcie is the tops do help retain moisture but once the weather gets in the 90s here I'm watering every other day with or without the the top so I figured lets give it a whirl topless this year and see how it goes. Last year during hot times I found myself filling the tube and trying to pull back the cover to prime the soil if I missed a day watering again so if that happens this year it will be easier without the top being in the way.
I'm also getting a gravity fed autowaterer together this weekend to help with that.
Something else I'm seeing is the mater vines getting so full they shade the box very well so they kinda became top cover.

Another no-no I've been doing is feeding some liquid nutes in addition to the dry stuff loaded in there. I think I'm getting away with it becuase the toms are taking up so much water so fast that if the liquid fertz do get down into the reservoir the plants take it all up so fast the nutes dont have the time to go sour.
These tubs are so ez and forgiving it seems I have to really try to fuck it up for it to go bad

absolutely loving the topless term!!!!! you should have no problem with it all man, for the past couple years i've been running mine topless in the greenhouse and in there it's kinda like tejas temps!!! with lettuce and herbs it's kinda tough to use the bonnets anyway... i keep em covered till i start seeing sprouts then let em all hang out!!!! haha

i remember putting some liquid compost in them already. i was afraid the black liquid would stain those sexy green tubs but nope nice and clean at the end of year!!!

but like ya say, the plants use the nutes so fast there is no time for souring....

i'm gonna sow my bean seeds in a few minutes...

.
.
check it out...................

the family loved them man!!!! even my mom had seconds!!!!

thanks so much for typing out that recipe bro!!!!!!!! next time i'll try it with beef!!!

hey everybody!!!! i hope y'all are having a fun week!!!!

I got a new camera today... been wanting one for a while so i spent some corona money on it... my old one had some scratches on the lens and i would always have a blurry spot in all my photos... so i hope i can keep this lens clean.

nothing fancy, just a coolpix point and shoot. i've always had coolpix so the cables and menus are all very familiar.

some shots of my veggies....

beans are starting to sprout....

shot a video of my fish......

Your browser is not able to display this video.

and some bud shots...

the plant that replaced the night rider in flowering is a Monster Zkittles from zamnesia....

i had to tie down the branches on the sky master. she was gonna end up being burnt in the bulbs so i had to bend all the tops over... i'll be better prepared the next time i flower this plant....

the WiFi is looking nice so far!!!

dammit!!!!! did you at least catch a buzz?

.
.
.

so i stopped watching the news earlier this week... way too much negativity.. it started to affect the way i was thinking about people. i have been very disappointed in society and started to loose faith in humanity so i think i'm going to not pay attention to anything general news related for a while and just hang out here on the forum more.

ALL lives matter.... not just one race!!!

something to brighten everyone's day....

LMAO...hehehe..buzz on buddy!.., I'll get one for sure!. Tractor seems to be good, it has alot faster reverse gear than I'm used to but I get the hang of that, at 2300 bucks I a little bit afraid to take it out of the garage, it's so bright and shiny....
That will change though.. ok been up since 3:30 this morning, so it's time I go close me one good eye...
You take care brother....
