Welcome! I just blindly finished my first outdoor grow, glad to see someone doing a similar indoor. You mean you can’t just buy whatever soil and nutrients and grow pounds of dank? crazy.

Will be stalking now tho

Also, too much to catch up on but I saw the ‘if it requires pants it’s not happening shirt’, it’s a vibe man

Yes sir! My first grow, but I’m trying to get it right lmao. Going in kind of blind but hopefully I’ll have some success to share later on. How was your grow outdoors?

Super relatable. You’re in a good spot, nobody here will let your plants just die. Maybe let you get close for the sake of learning

for what it was it went great. I started with 10 random seeds I’ve gotten over the years, ended with 4 girls that gave me about a pound.

I don’t know shit about indoors, but I’ll say the plant is a bit more forgiving than you would expect. You might hinder its growth, but unless you cut it in half, it’s gonna be okay.

Shit man I’ll take the learning for sure, everyone’s recommendations have worked great so far so I’ve definitely gained trust in yall here. My main spot to go.

Damn maybe idk much but that seems like a decent turnout for that situation. A pound off 4 seems good to me too. I’ve never dabbed into the male seed situation, I just bought the feminized seeds. That’s good to hear though dude cause I get so anxious with this thing, any little thing I notice I’m asking questions freaking out lol. It’s good to hear people telling me that they are in fact quite durable.

That’s good, it just means you’re paying attention!

I didn’t know feminized seeds were a thing until I found out I had so many fucking males

It is. It’s fantastic. I try not to get caught up with the experienced people that have massive plants and the same size yields, it’s just a matter of time until I get there. I’m very happy with what I got.

Yeah it’s pretty dope knowing you’ll for sure have a female. And hell yeah dude for sure you’ll have it locked down for sure. What you already yielded is already impressive.

I’m in the same boat, if I get anything to smoke from this first plant I’ll be happy lol. Then see what I can do from there on out

I see. Since there's no dimmer switch and can't move it further away I would try putting a piece of cardboard or some other material between the light and the plant for 3 or 4 hours each day. Kind of give it some shade so it's still getting indirect light but not full power for a portion of each cycle.

Ya know that’s not a bad idea. I was thinking of laying a sheet of screen under the light to attempt to dim it a little . Idk how crazy that sounds

A sheet of screen will help they sell shade cloth specifically for that purpose

How do you dim the light with foil?

Got my fan setup, gives me more room in the tent. The plant seems to be recovering. Let dry out for a full week and a day then watered her today after I was forced to top yesterday, didn’t want the plant getting too tall as my tent is small. But all in all, getting better I’d say.

Um, can we talk about watering? It looks like you watered just right around the plant. Watering practices are very important and frequently a source of problems. When you have a seedling or a young veg you could get away with watering just around the plant and it would be okay because the plant root system is compact, but almost overnight the roots are going to expand to fill that whole pot. If the roots try to grow into dry soil she'll have major problems just as bad or worse than the light problem she has now. Right now she's sending her tap root down to the bottom of that pot so it is better to water completely from the start of the grow which prepares the soil for root growth both with moisture and beneficial microbe activity.

It appears your watering from the top in peat based soil so a proper way to water is to start by wetting all the soil on top. Dry peat repels water so you have to let it sit and get wet for 5 minutes then water more thoroughly. Let that sit for 5 or 10 minutes. Then water again. By patiently repeating this process until an amount of water comes out the bottom of the pot you can be sure that every portion of soil in the pot is wet. Then don't water again until the pot has dried back. Probably about 5 to 7 days for a young plant in a pot, also considering temp, humidity, ventilation and fans. Watch for leaves to become a little wilted, that indicates time to water. A few weeks from now you'll need to shorten the time between waterings as she gets bigger.

There are other options for watering practice and things you can do like adding a mulch layer that can improve moisture retention but a thorough, complete watering followed by a dry back period in soil is pretty essential health maintenance.

That was super clear and easy to understand. I think I may have gotten mixed up with a watering technique I saw on YouTube for coco and perlite, that’s on me. Since I just watered yesterday would I be a bad idea to add more water around the pot right now?

hey man, do you have a scale? if so, weigh the pot when dry, note how much it

weighs, then you know exactly when to water; just let her dry back to that weight

i'm not a dirt farmer but i've seen that method mentioned in many posts about when to water.

If you only watered a little yesterday then yes I would water thoroughly as I described above today.
