Exactly, I say topped but ya....i'm def fim'ing. Every once in a while I get it just right and the plant goes crazy and turns into a fatty bush with only one FIM. Love the purple stems in that pic, what is that?

It's Sunday! I have nothing on the plate today......for once, just football, a cold one or two, and some 6 month cured Orange crush.......it's a good feeling yall! I did some transplanting last week, the Aliens are now in 3 gallon plastic. I still haven't decided if I'm going to transplant again into 5 or 7 gallon or just flower in 3 gallon.....anyway...the pics:

Tahoe Alien, this leaf is thick....like fabric of some sort:

Those babies will do great in SCROG. Here are the Alien Rock Candy:

Beauties!!

Onto the flower room.....here is the GC gettin' their nuggage on:

Some Bubba, these pics were dark and don't do this cut justice so I'll include better ones on the next update:

And the OG room:

Some GSC:

Here's a nice cut of Diamond OG that I was gifted:

Have a great weekend farmers! I'll check back in with an update soon,

BD

Nice family you have there KD! Titan is looking forward, but you can tell his peripheral vision is locked on what is important, like he's staring into oblivion. Congrats on the new human addition! It's awesome to see the trust you have in your pup, i'm sure he returns the favor doubled. Man, I was taken back by your compliment. I work hard at what I do and it's nice when someone notices the details......thanks brother, much appreciated.

I was doing some defol today, as I do every day, and I have a theory about the giant sun leaves that get pushed out in veg. I understand the theory behind letting the plant grow it's complete life cycle without any stress but I don't think that's the best way at this point. Since I'm growing indoors the light angle and penetration is a big factor. My theory is that these giant sun leaves that show up in veg are more for shade than for photosynthesis. Outdoors, these leaves are necessary in hotter areas and can shield the lower budsites from direct light while there is high heat. Some photosynthesis will happen of course, but without that leaf, several budsites below it will now be in direct light, and indoors where tempeture is controlled, is better overall. My opinion is that the removal of sun leaves (Biggest) will increase overall energy intake, when grown indoors.

What do you think about that one sir?

What up bird dog. I'm taking a different approach to canopy management. Small plants without much side branch and no toppping. Left the top 6 inches on the plant, removed everything below, and flipped. Seems like the lowers that would be larf on a larger plant will be getting lots of light with this approach.

Ok so SOG and all tops right? That's a great strategy and some of my buddies are KILLIN it with that method. They are growing in 1/2 gallon filled with rockwool and per-lite on flood and drain. 130 per 4x8 . They pulled 13 with 6 lights. The downfall for me is the plant numbers, I have a limit so It just won't work for me because of how I have my rooms setup.

Because of their last pull I have been thinking about running a SOG at a buddies place. SOG is unquestionably the way to go if you have unlimited plant numbers.

Is that the response you were looking for, or did I miss the point? Hahaha

I've topped from 2-6 nodes and honestly my best harvest was just shy of 2lbs on a 1000w a 4 week veg with topping just the 2 nodes. Unsure if it was just the grow itself or just timing but it worked out well and if I remember multiple strains were ran. I feel topping is a timing and strain thing for sure. I will always be on the quest to find that way that for certain.

Outwest, I Like your method with smaller plants and have done that as well with great results. I really want another stab at that in the future but have done coco beds that way.

Birddog, As always the dog pics make my day and checking on your tahoe aliens is so cool being that mine just got put into the soil over the last day.

I also have some diamond og and true ogs maybe 50 or so seeds just decided to pop a few the other day to do some testing. I've grown the diamond and it turned out pretty well. good luck brother. MWD

Thanks for the fam comliment there BD, im pretty happy with it thus far haha. Pros are given where props due bro, your thread hold alot of great info, so your helping folks out y shring that info, hence props due!! Every since we brought my daughter home when born, Titan doesnt ever leave her side, sleeps by he crib, sit wherever she is at no matter the situation. Hell hes even grabbed me reachin over my wife to touch the baby. Love that dog for his loyalty to say the least!!
Alot of folks dont like to defoliate those big ass solar panels we call sun leaves. They say it slows down photo and isnt good for the girls. I myself am an absolute fan of doing some cleaning up. there always lots of leaves left, and it allows much more light to lower budsites alowing more development to what would normally be fluff

Looks like 1 gallon smartpots? I do see some buds forming so you must be in 12/12. I can see the height that you lollypopped. If you check out my Green Crack picks they are lolly popped a bit higher and still made a super thick canopy. I would say that you are losing a TON of light having your plants so spaced out. Maybe veg 2 more weeks next time. If you are at your plant numbers limit I would switch to 3 or 5 gallon pots with a 4-8 week veg. You want the canopy as thick as you can get it as long as you can still have good airflow. My next round I'm goint to grow even thicker and put fans blowing air up through the canopy as well as a fan blowing heat away from the tops of the plants.

Looks good though! Good luck with the rest Mr. West,

BD

YES! Thanks freekin perfect. Exactly what I was getting at! That's so awesome when you are figuring out a strategy and then BAM, done. Lots to think about now. At least I was doing most of it right. Now I know not to remove large healthy fans in flower, even if they are shading. I will only remove them if they are sitting on top of another leave.

Thanks for the link Sos!
