Berkeley and MIT have a really good selection. You can google Opencourseware and do it through that also, same thing, that is the program these colleges participate in, Ivy League education for free and always a seat open...lol

I am finding some interesting things....

Okay, basically I add molasses, Ph goes down to about 5.3 and CO2 (measured by air at top of actively bubbling tea) starts a pretty steep gradient. Ph starts rising with CO2. CO2 levels off when Ph hits about 6.6 and good head of foam has formed by then. I am adding molasses in 25% increments. I will post more later once I finish. I have three teas going. I am going to do control seperate, haven't really figured out how to do this. Maybe with just EWC in one w/molasses and another with just molasses and RO water.

If you're using soybean meal in your tea-
a soybean specific EM that I ran across and have been keeping an eye out for is bacillus circulans Strain HA12. (Bergey’s) 21 strains of protease producing bacteria were isolated from 50,000 initial strains tested and bacillus circulans was, by far, the most active. It’s an aerobe that can completely breakdown and degrade soybean meal in 48 hours.
Don't know if this is too specific for Cap's mix or if it's even available commercially. I find material specific microbe research and testing fascinating.

I bet I could get it, but need to see if its compatible.

I use this strained as a drench for my transplant mix and unstrained as a pick me up tonic during late veg/early flower as necessary.
Defi-cation Tea
1 handful (1/2-3/4 cup) each EWC, Arctic humus (clean, active microbial source), Malibu Compost- Bu's blend (or commercially composted *dairy cow* manure), Mexican (high N) bat guano, 1 Tbsp kelp powder, (ie Maxicrop), 1 Tbs molasses, 4-5 gal filtered water.
I don't use any exogenous microbes w/ this one but that's only because I've already got Cap's bennies worked into my mixes and all of my other teas and want to give them a break. The tea contains a different suite of microbes and enzymes, including some that are unique to dairy cows and it improves CEC, (cation exchange capacity.) Cap's bennies could also be added depending upon the nute program.

you seem to need some practice w/ your navigating skills. it showed up on the first page I searched. If you use google, it will suggest the correct spelling.
Check out the DefeCation tea. It will help. ;)

Plant nurseries are the better source for your organic ferts. I imagine they will be far cheaper than hydro shops.

That's the rule of thumb. The owners of the store that I shop at are organic growers and their shop is a reflection of their values. A full selection of organic lines, several medium choices, (ie 4-5 coirs), Peaceful Valley amendments, Malibu compost...and the prices beat most online outlets before S&H is added. An exception to the rule, no doubt, but hopefully, a glimpse of the future.

PS sorry catdaddy. I misread your post.

checked all the nurseries around my way and none of them carry alfalfa meal, when asked some made it seemed like its a taboo around these parts.
i did have some success in locating it though, and i found it in the last place i would have ever expected.
which brand should i get
1.down to earth 2.5-1-1
2.whitney farms 2-0.5-2
3.dr. earth 2-1-2
thanks in advance.

I don't know your situation but you might want to check out the 50lb bag price. Might save you a few bucks even w/ S&H if you have the need and ample space.
Dr Earth got his start @ Peaceful Valley, FWIW.

thanks for the recommendation but it's gonna cost me at least twice as much in shipping on top of the $25 dollars that they charge for the 50lb bag.
being that you are familiar with the dr earth, would i assume right that he's the prime choice on the list?

Root aphids help
I was wondering after using caps roots & foliar pack tea recipe, how long will it take to get rid of my root aphids? Will they be gone after one dosage of tea? What else can I do?

If you check your math on the price per pound you will find that the 50# bag is more cost effective than purchasing 10 5# boxes even w/ the *$18* S&H included. As for product preferences, I'll have to bow out and leave it to someone who is more qualified than me to help w/ the customer service questions. You're way out of my depth. Good luck. Your answers are out there.

there is a thread here in this section that is by dollar. check that one where he detail show he used the foliar to get rid of RA's. You are going to want to use just the foliar pack, undiluted.
