I can tell now that foodstocks and ratios seem to have a hell of a lot of effect on DO levels. I can understand now why microbeman stresses how important it is to test.

I do have a question that's killing me for an answer.
When I make my in-between tea which is EWC, Hi Brix EJ Molasses, Alfalfa and a couple handfuls of Humisoil I will find small worms coming out the bottom of my smartpots. I have seen them at the top also but mainly at the bottom. Very small, they look like fungus gnat larvae and are either that, but never live to adult stage, maybe the BTi gets them, or they are nematodes. I am once again using alfalfa for the first two weeks of flower and I am having a marvelous grow. I know they are in great health because I am seeing many 9 and 11 petal leaves. It's just something I know is an indicator of a great grow with this strain which I have had for over three years now.
So, whatever these worms are they are not hurting the plant.
Can nematodes be visible to the naked eye? I have looked at them under my pocket scope and they don't have the black head like I have seen the older fungus gnat larvae have.
Really bugging my OCD side.
yeah! i first saw em in my grow .?a year ago.roughly.i asked my guy at my old hydro shop.even took a sample of the soil + ?what i thaugjt were? worms!lol. he used a VERY powerfull scope + HE SAID.ITS NOWT TOBWORRY ABOUT.ITS JUST MY SOIL IS REALLY REALLY GOOD AT THE TIME.WITH BENIES + OTHER ORGANIC GOODIES.he said thevsmell of my bone+ , bry powdered blood meal.fish blood meal.+ guanno.i only ever had to use water at 6.5! for the ENTIRE GROW. it was by far the TASTIEST SMOKE IVE ENJOYED. im really pushing my runs atm like. + getting REALLY FREAKY BIG OG BUDS! i never knew og nugs could get soo big:-)haha.lol.i got snaps.cant post on ere tho .no laptop.i can g mail pics n shit etc like.click,
i have seen the same multiple times. i even said "thats the biggest nematode ive ever seen:eek:!"
fungus gnat larva are usually found in the topsoil and you would see a couple bastards flying around as well.
However, it could possibly be Spingtails. these are harmless little guys and a good indication that you have a very healthy soil - and when i say healthy, i mean teaming with life.
if there is no harm shown, then no foul. great job on the 9 and 11 pointers!
te cyclers are great i think.IN A ORGANIC set up like mine! WELL! 95% organic.i keep it as clean + organic as possible i sweep +wash floors etc every 3,days.take fans apart every 2,weeks to clean my blades etc.,clean my bulb+ glass on my ref etc.just tha usuall really.+ use diff bulbs EVERY 4 ,MONTHS ETC.just i think that a nice clean area, floor is better.its pretty clear my girls love it clean.! + IF for any chance my floor gets dusty etc.my plants dont really like it. ESPECIALLY THE MORE EXPENSIVE STRAINS?weird but true! my bluedream HATES A DUSTY FLOOR,its mad.i dont think ,this side of growing gets covered enough?. not really.like? pre filters, hepas on ur intake fans etc.it MUST HAVE NEGATIVE RESULTS?WITH ALL THE DUSYTNope not springtails. I know what they are and I love the little bastards. First time I seen them I freaked out until Sea Maiden schooled me a bit :) Well, unless they have a larvae stage?
I usually don't see springtails until about week 3 of flower. Not in abundance anyway. I usually will start spotting the springtails when I water and they float on the top until the water seeps in. I don't smoke much, but last grow I got stoned and watched them little buggers for about an hour. They don't eat anything that's alive. Not that I could tell plus I have looked them up, they are nutrient cyclers and only eat dead organic matter.
Anyway, yeah, I had fungus gnats a few times before I got educated on some things, but I haven't had them things in such a long time.
Thanks man. That's a relief.
Hey, I have heard that using a pressure sprayer is better than those little spray bottles. I read that on someone's page that had a scope and tested different methods. This was the same place I read that strainer through those bags are not really that good an idea either, even at the 400 micron advised size. Once you get a layer inside the bag it acts as an additional filter and will actually prevent some bacteria and fungi from passing through. Said letting it settle to the bottom and siphoning/scooping off the top is better by far. I think it was Compost Junkie website.
but actually i came here to ask a question..
Cap,
Is there such a method of applying my tea foliar - which has OG Biowar - without killing everything im trying to promote. Dont get me wrong, I have great success using your products, but looking at samples of my AACT before and after my little handheld spray bottle are horrific. barely any life with some bacteria just chilling. any advice?

man , i agree with having all your shit clean . BUT, what you think , a little O.C.D. ?
were's your grow , in a sand gravel pit ?
at the end of a harvest in the flowering room (10x9 sealed) i clean everything top to bottom .
i mean , that shit don't get that dirty !
the grow room needs a little more attention a lot of shit going on in there !
Letting it settle and scooping or pouring off the top is best because only the heavy shit will settle out, leaving the microbes suspended and swimming in the solution. I do not know what the worms are. Can you get a pic of them somehow?
I use a tank sprayer and add a little yucca as a surfactant. I use 50/50 fresh tea pured off the top and water. There is lots of life still after spraying. I have also ran them through a fogger and still plenty of life. You can see the youtube I posted in my section in a fogger thread I made. What kind of spray bottle are you using?
Hey brother I got nothin' but love for you but can you try to go easy on all the caps locks? Your writing style is hard to read. Spell checking not a bad idea either. :)

You would need a macro lens thingy. They don't seem to have a head. I have looked at them under a pocket scope. Fwiw.
Can anyone say if they have seen them when they have NOT been adding Alfalfa meal? For some reason I don't think I saw them last grow when I didn't use Alfalfa Meal in my teas as an experiment.
