I just remembered a question. I was reading on the Microbeorganic site about whether microbes survive impeller pumps. In the different methods examined to see damage from impellers and some other assorted stuff I read this:

http://www.microbeorganics.com/#Does_Microbial_Life_Survive_
4/ Sample taken right from brewer and sprayed through one of those handoperated spray bottles set on mist; this, surprisingly had the mostdevastating effects. The bacterial structures were mostly torn upand many flagellates were killed.Click here to view video(6 MB)

I wonder what method of foliar works better/best?

Does this apply with the foliar pack microbes?

What is better, no matter what sprayer, is just mixing powder right from foliar pack with water and then spray? Or can you just use CT from the recipe? Or could you maybe mix it up and bubble it for an hour or two?

I know I am posting a lot of questions. Sorry if it's bugging anyone. I am getting as much reading as I can done but I have had some problems lately with grows and am really focusing on my clones and rooms right now. I know I am a PITA.

I read that too. He also says that they will survive even if a little broken up, as long as they are not smashed. If they survive, they will reproduce and do the job they need to do.

Either way you want to mix it is fine, but IMHO if you get them breeding and active first, and then spray, they will be more effective.

Cap does mention that (in other words) in the edit portion of the original post.

FYI, not mentioned in the original post. I did NOT use any mycorrhizae in the example I speak of.
There are many different types of fungi, not just mycorrhizae.

In the beginning of my post you will notice I reference "your" tea recipe in the testimonial thread and that I wasnt sure whether to post here or there. That being said, I would like to apologize, I misquoted. I was referring to Alien's tea recipe. Furthermore, I would like to state for the record, I am very well aware that there are other species of fungi rather than just mycorrhizae, but thank you for bringing my misquotation to my attention.
Cheers

Back to the other part then, will just using the tea recipe as is do with both packs in it or do a tea with just the Foliar and if so any suggestions on the food source for the foliar's, if doing in a tea alone?

If you brew a tea with both packs, you can spray with it. The root pack is not really designed as a foliar, but it wont do any damage, and it does have some species that will help on the leaf surface (i.e bacillus spp.). Some people will not want to make 2 separate teas, and that is totally understandable.

food source s the same. If you can get your hands on nutrient broth ...you can make your own with beef exctract and peptides, glucose, yeast, etc.. That is what the manufacturer uses. He also said that molasses will be fine though. Just being in water is fine actually, but you want them to reproduce and not die off right away its best to give them a food source. I am not an expert on food. Trying to learn more every day.

seems like fish hydrolosate, humic acid, glucose, yeast, molasses, algae extract... are all great sources. My guess is the more you can include the better, but dont quote me on that

Thanks...

BTW.....I have been meaning to tell you that I have a hard drive that I need to go through from when I was in nursing school. I was also a work study, my job was basic file keeping, arranging notices for clinicals and other asst shit, BUT the cool thing was I ordered all the supplies for not only the nursing department but also all science curriculum classes since most were pre-req classes for nursing. Anyway, I don't know if it will help but I have a ton of sources for everything from basics pipettes, agar plates, staining kits....in short everything that microbiology classes used for the lab portion of the class, same with Chem 1a and 1b, pathophysiology etc.... I do know that you don't have to be an Edu. Inst. to order from most. I do remember you could order prepackaged kits to make your own nutrient broth, agar mediums and well just tons of stuff. Many different reagents for slide prep too. I just need a few weeks before I can get a chance to get back into it.

I have come upon a molasses feeding method that seems to work.
In an effort to avoid a bloom and crash microbial population, I placed the feed in a reclining jar. The bubbler stirs things up, but the jar protects the sugars from moving into solution too quickly. This would probably work with other feeds as well.

can you take a picture of this?

Hey Cap what dilution rate do you recommend for foliar applications?

I'm having really nice results mixing the Nute pack bennies in with my soil mix at transplant time.

My clones seem to take off a little faster after transplanting.....

Everything just seems a little more vibrant and healthy using these bennies!

Thanks for your time Cap:)

you can use foliar at full strength with no ill effects..
I just got my microscope working, and I know it works... check it out!

Can you guess what type of "bacteria" that is?

Bacteria1

Brewing some tea now. Only with earth juice and EWC. I tried with fish hydrolosate and got no foam. Not sure what happened but I tossed that batch. Hopefully this one comes out better.

well it's not rod shaped so Bacillus Subtillus is out :o)

Is it a bacteria? Kinda looks like a spore with the watchmacallit growing on it.

oh fuck thats funny...dude. First time I laughed this weekend. Everything good here btw....actually I am very very pleased.

Actually I am more impressed with what his gf will do for the sake of Cap's "science".....

I wonder how many times you will be able to use that one dude?

Can't wait to order mine....definitely going to use it. Your line I mean...lol
