Ive had soil insects of one kind or another pop up most grows latley, and figuring out weather or not they came in the soil would be helpfull. So i came up with a way of checking. Take a large zip lock bag and fil it about half way with your soil or coco right when you open a bag and let it sit in a warm spot for a week or so and you will find out whats living in there.
I just did this with canna coco and I got soil gnats in the bag. Only place they could have been was in the coco.

great post bro! having pretty much eradicated the gnats here, i was recently thinking i needed to isolate my next stuff when it comes home. this is the method i will use for sure.

Canna had me up to my ears in those fuckers.

pretty sure Canna is also putting hypoaspis miles in their stuff to eat the gnat larvae.
