I normally consider these shutoffs to be crap but this time I’m on their side for once. Hopefully this is the last day today.

Looks like it’s gonna die down this afternoon! Then they have to inspect a bunch of line! Today’s wind doesn’t look too bad so maybe they’re inspecting right now! What a pita!

is it like a public safety thing for fires or resource scarcity? Or just shut offs because the grid sucks and they dont wanna fix it?

When it happens here, its usually both and you just get lied to about it. Weve even spent a day with out power shut off this year because they shut off the wrong house

It’s a public safety thing but it’s been triple digits every day.

Yeah I just deal with it. At $4 a gallon for propane there’s no way. I was raised on “deal with it” so it’s not a big deal for me. Other household members though

but yeah its they shut their shit off because its old and jankey and they dont want another lawsuit for fucking killing people becasue they are greedy! almost lost my wife to PG&E greed and corruption.

I’ve got a 3000w Honda. Itll power everything i need to be powered at once with interment power management with other things in the house. We just use it to keep our meat and food cold!

I dont remember the whole work out but I remember being turned away from the large generac propane units because it was more expensive to run than just a gas unit. Or maybe it was i didn’t want it to chew through my large tank? Either way i think it was less efficient that gas or diesel. I could be way off though

hope you get your power turned back on. like chucky said they have to check stuff (you know that) but one good thing they have done is installed remote sensors of sorts that help with that checking process (im sure you knew that also)

Yeah, it’s a fact of life now! As long as you have enough watts to keep the beer, cold, the meat, frozen, and the TV on, it’s an inconvenience! And a garbage can full of water for flushing the toilet! Lol! Usually have a pretty fair amount of warning!

We can use the trucks to charge phones and otherwise bust out the camping gear! People lived for eons before electricity ️

I’ll bet it’s a life saver when the juice stops flowin’. We looked at the at Costco too but we get gouged on propane prices. I’ve thought about getting a Tesla Powerwall battery thing since we have solar already.
