So Ive decided I'm not the biggest fan of the banjo x Columbian test pheno's flower. It's potent, but not a happy buzz, and it does a weird uncomfortable head pressure sometimes, especially from the dabs/hash lol

Im gonna go put her in the ground outside somewhere on the solstice, then just let her flower again outside. I'll cut away all the old buds when I do.

Reveg was indeed successful though. Shoots almost fully reverted now.

11-12 week pheno even from clone, but worth it. Some day ill take her to finish without any hangnails... but that is not this day. Shes even danking-up her stems like the thai dom haymeadow though.

100% of the seedlings kept inside are above soil as of this morning.

Probably the most lined up pops I've ever had starting this many seeds. Every single bean seems very happy to be here. Only one stuck seed shell and it came right off. All perfectly formed πŸ’š

The two big freak shows on the outside are females, the little one in middle is a male. Will be making some more of them too. The planter is 2.5 ft deep, full of loam and composted manures, bone meal, blood meal. Natural local soil. Should stay just add water til finish πŸ€™

Your plants look amazing.
You sure you want that male freak in your garden?
And I am deciding whether to keep your plants in pots or plant them in Verticillium abundant soil. What do you think?

I say just put them in ground and keep them well fed. They're true blue F1s it'll take a lot to stop em if you let their roots unfold and keep em well fed. They should brush pests and diseases off their shoulder no problem.

This one is only 7 weeks old. Hasn't even pre-flowered yet. There's a mimosa tree full of fusarium like ten feet from this plant. I'm not worried in the slightest about it either. This plants genetics stood proud butted up against two full of septoria and fusarium last year, and never even flinched.

Mom wants more of the seed. She's thrilled there's a plant that finishes in summer and doesn't look like cannabis so she won't have to worry bout the ass hats who cut through the yard to town. It's also downhill and down wind from the patch

I'll be pulling the male from the stalk, and letting it drop pollen indoors in a sealed hallway over parchment paper or foil while it's in a bottle of water. And I'll be bagging and paint brushing the pollen. Unless I'm open pollinating a group of photos (like I'm doing with the SLH and afghans, which will be almost a half mile away from each other, or the cuddle puddle last fall), I collect pollen totally discretely.

I was going to let the male alien Rider open pollinate the rest of the autos, but my paranoia got the better of me on that one.

Okkkaaayyy, I'll put them in the ground. LOL
I'd hate to loose them.
I'm putting the other plants in pots on top of the infested soil. This year anyways.

@cpurola I also cleared all the wild hemp from the near by tracks that I could find. And the open pollinating patches are way uphill from them.

I should be done with the auto pollinating before my photo plants and the wild plants are even making pollen.

Since I'm open pollinating with the Afghans and SLH in only going to leave one good female in each patch, surrounded by multiple males.

I *should* have rates off unintentional cross pollination less than 1 per 1000 seeds produced. Probably even better than that

If you're genuinely worried definitely do whatever you're most comfortable with

Here in a couple of months I'm planning on sending you pollen from my most pest and disease resistant males, so you can put it on a bud of banjo and peace Blaster plants you have that showed the most resistance/you enjoyed growing the most with a little paint brush.

The goal there is to leave ya with a whole genotype of seed that shows promising resistance in your particular environment with your particular pathogens.

An "Ace in the hole" so to speak. And it won't take any work on your part besides sticking a paintbrush in a ziplock bag and painting it onto a bud you want seeds in + a couple seasons of watching em do their thing.

I figured you might struggle with a couple of plants doing it that way, but that's actually the idea. that's why you would be putting the pollen on the other plants that didn't, and keeping those seeds to pop next year. Etc.

Future proofing your garden, so to speak. Pathogens are about to explode uncontrollably over the next decade, absolute guarantee. Its already starting.

@cpurola if you wanted, i could actually reverse a clone/branch on my most resistant female pheno, and send you some feminized pollen in loo of male pollen if you wanted.

i often forget most growers these days prefer Fem seed, so i forget thats even an option a lot of the time lol.

I really do prefer Female seeds. But if it would change the vigor of the plant than regular would do just fine. Thank you.
Wait, I mean pollen.
Sorry, had my cookie. LOL

It's not even July yet and I have two plants with septoria. Gonna be a gnarly season.

We shall see how quick they kick it to the curb, or how quickly it affects their growth one

If it affects their growth noticable and negatively I'll be tearing them right out the ground and removing them from my breeding pool immediately.

Septoria, fusarium, and verticillium is going to become the outdoor grower's banes in the coming years. And I'm not dealing with that shit lol.

It shouldn't too much. And it's not necessarily vigor as much as virulency that's changed negatively through excessive inbreeding. True F1 vigor is hard to maintain these days so many plants share history

I'm not gonna be having you running backcrosses till every seed is totally identical though. They make have some shared history that'll benefit consistency between phenos, but it's not going to be genetically segregated like a repetitive backcross or something. Just making a genotype of seed you can trust to have a high rate of Disease resistance.

Also only if ya want to lol

So stoked to add a pure line of Super lemon haze to my library. Interesting side note, Arjan/Greenhouse has admnitted to some breeders, that Lemnon Skunk x Super silver haze is not actually the genetics of super lemon haze. It's actually Jack Herer X Lemon Skunk. These are F8s of the original SLH from GHS. Arjan gave it the name it had, and told others it was lemon skunk x ssh probably to prevent people from quickly recreating the pheno or one very close.

Banjo Blaster #2 is a damn leviathan.
