The Adventure Continues. 2016 Edition

We are planning on doing one leval of netting across at about 6 feet. Then wrapping the entire outside to make a cube. Then one more leval at the very top of the t posts when the plants get bigger.

The t post pounder is a game changer but it doesn't make this an easy job. We have done about 400 out of the 640 t posts. My shoulders are done. I guess it's good it's getting me in wedding shape for next month. Can't wait for when we are in cruise control in two weeks. We still have to set up the drips and finish netting every pot. Then I want to continue to spray everything for caterpillars and bugs. Clean out all the under stuff and dig out around each stalk and put a little plastic ring to make sure I don't get stalk rot like the last two years. The barn is really coming along.

My husband and I spent all of last week getting up at 4:30am to be out by first light so we could be finished with as much outside work as possible by 10am, then sleep the afternoon away. My shoulders feel your pain after all the digging I've done. FINALLY got my fishpond dug out, and the day after I found out we'll probably be moving again in just a couple or three months.

I have absolutely nothing growing, so watching this is a real treat for me.

That sucks you have to move again. Where are you thinking of going to. Come up to Sonoma and get a light dep property.

A couple more of my archive ogs show a little bit of a sign that they are flowering. I don't know weather to pull them out or let it ride. It looks like they have started to come out of it and I don't have any replacements. I will most likely pull the 6 foot plants out and get some teens and put 5 or 6 in a 200 gallon bag

Other garden is booming after I was gone for 5 days. The light dep is boosting as well. They are craving some food in the light dep. we have been so busy I haven't really been giving them all the extra love and nutrients they need. Time to get everything foliar fed. Fertilized and back to healthy

This late in the season I would probably leave them especially if they are that large. Really weird it happened this late in the year when the daylight hours are still so long, and not earlier when the days were short or when we had that nasty cold snap. Did anything stress it out? The Archives can be finicky about their water and nutrients, they don't like too much water or food and tend to be slow to root out their pots. I've found that if I water them as much as the other plants in my garden, they tend to not be happy.

That kind of leaf curl makes me think of when Bulldog11 got the broad mites. Just to be safe, I'd be scoping VERY closely. IIRC he uses 100x magnification.

I think the leaf curling has to do more with under watering or over watering. It's hard when u hand water because it's easy to soak the entire pot but then the plant sits in water for a couple days. I got stuff for broad mites and regular mites to spray anyway as a preventative . Just waiting for the tank sprayer blaze reccomended to show up in the mail along with the fogger nozzle. Gave the light dep a good feeding today along with a growilla bud top dress. They look really great but I'm a little worried it gets a little warm in the hoop house around 530 to 630 at night when it's still hot out and the tarp is on.

The full term plants are boosting and we got one garden totally done with the first layer across and started wrapping the cube of netting around the outside so we can pull the branches threw them. This is what some of the leaves look like after a heavy watering.

The leaf curling is just on the top branches on the highest part of the plants. Last time some one told me the very top parts of the plant will directly resemble what the tap root is feeling at the very bottom of the pot.

What a lovely day on the farm. Got my new sprayer from northern tool. It's a 26 gallon tank with a bad ass pump and I bought the upgraded fogger nozzle. The guys are almost done wrapping up all the plants with the netting. I'm juicing everything with some fertilizers.

My leaves do the same thing. I never heard about the tap root top foliage info. That's good to know. Sounds and looks spot on

Get an extra nozzle. I always seem to need a new nozzle. I got the 26gal, but haven't ever been able to fill it up here because we're on a bit of a slope and I (can't believe I'm saying this, given my physique) don't weigh enough to keep the quadrunner moving, or from tipping on certain hills. On flat it should be perfect! I did also add 100' of hose to it, so I could get the nozzle to places I couldn't actually get the sprayer. It does reduce the PSI coming out of the nozzle a little bit, but not enough to make it a problem.
