Light on the cones? Of course, it makes sense, but usually there are growing leaves in the cones, and they are small, but the small leaves have difficulty providing for their growth, not to mention the inflorescences. Energy is distributed depending on the conditions, but the total area of the leaves is much more important than the direct light on the cones. On the other hand, where there is little light, the composition of the air is important.
