I only know some basics about dwc. I think it becomes very close. Rockwool will have better aeration and act as a short term buffer if something happens to the system. I also dont have any of the res temp issues that come with dwc. And res maintenance is more difficult with dwc and this scrog method from what Ive read. I wont be letting my roots grow into the res either but still like dwc.Is that now dwc with extra steps haha
You might get algea if your cube is wet all the time and it has any light shining on it.I only know some basics about dwc. I think it becomes very close. Algae won't hurt the cubes or plants, it's usually minor. If it does grow to where water is shedding off it instead of soaking in; you just take a tube-holding stake, or sharp pencil or something and jab some good 1/4" holes through the algae and it'll absorb water again & still work fine. You might get algea if your cube is wet all the time and it has any light shining on it.
What mike said. It's not a big deal. You get algae on the roots too. My cubes had all kinds of stuff growing on them before. You might get algea if your cube is wet all the time and it has any light shining on it.
I'm guessing it basically takes over the res?in dwc it becomes a real problem.
Dude! I use everything amendment wise in this photo. Dolomite lime is a game changer if you add it in and There’s a couple other things here and there, but I mean that’s basically my set up for amendments bro. I see resinous terpenes in your futureThis is the current setup and what Im using. Im growing in an apartment bedroom with no window. Temps are trying to be controlled by the apartments hvac system. The important word is try. Lets just say temp and rh% is a constant dance for optimal but almost always in acceptable ranges.

I've added a few things since that post. Lime is for pH and my soil comes preamended. I do reuse my soil so there might be a point where I need more lime.Dude!
