There are 2 versions of the caps normal and preset. The preset ones come with 2 marks on the dial that represent the avg setting for low and high pressure systems so initial setup is easier. The normal ones have a more advanced calibration but its really just following directions. I ended up with a mix of preset and normal caps, on the normals I did the calibration and marked the caps myself. Now things are kind of plug and play. Overall setup is "advanced" but not much of a pita. Air bubbles can be an issue with the systems but can easily be countered. Ive had 2 incidents where my drain trays filled up and if not caught wouldve flooded the tent. Both were when hand watering my weekly microbe cocktail. The fix for that is shutting down the blumats when hand watering. The simple version of why. If you hand water when the blumat is also open and watering the flood of extra moisture throws the ceramic tip out of wack.
That's a great explanation thanks!

I usually update so frequently that it feels like ages since a gorilla cookies update. Day 102 above ground. The reason for no update is because Ive been killing her for 10 days. The switch to the heavy 16 line was rough. It was foolish of me to switch without having every bottle of the line. The roots bottle is the "glue" that holds the chemistry together in simple terms. Without the roots in the mix the iron and calcium were precipitating out of the solution and the res was having severe pH swings of up to 1 full point in 24hrs. My reward for my stupidity is that the gorilla cookies lost 10 very valuable days were she was just trying to survive. She probably isnt going to bulk up like she could have.

The bottle of roots got here middle of the day Friday. Once I got the notification I left work and came home to mix a fresh batch for the res. Over the weekend the res has been stable and shes been taking advantage of it. Still looks a little rough but starting to comeback to life.

5x5 has been getting a few leaves taken and got some lst tonight. I knew these strains were supposed to be small and bushy but damn this things are tiny. I've moved away from rockwool in soil. I have a ton of the cubes but they aren't worth the troubles.

My guess is it's the pheno type that has different requirements.
I feel i see that with my indicas.

Edith it can still turn out very good when it gets used to the medium.

Looks a bit droopy.
This is true. More so in this pic than majority of the time. Shes been droopy since recovering from the cubes drying out early. Ive made adjustments to most everything trying to make her happy, the one thing I cant do is see the roots and I suspect she doesnt have great roots.

I hand watered my weekly cocktail late Sunday night. Then Monday night I turned the blumats back on but missed my mark. I was a touch on the wet side of the dial. I noticed tonight during check in and made adjustments.

Last thing is that pic is about 15min from lights out. Shes sleepy.

So how long did it take?
I feel it takes around 4 -6 weeks to get them to play together with the medium if they start like that.

Yeah seems like the rockwool start into soil has some challenges.
I hear it a lot. Havn't tried starting in rockwool myself.
Im not liking it😆 they germ just fine, its the transplanting them with the rockwool into the medium, they still have a piece in there and that messed with the dry backs.
