You could do it as long as you can slide your legs in. Hell lots of river paddlers just hang their legs over the side and lean back like a lounge chair.

But if you can get you feet on the footrests inside you have way better steering and stability.
The river pictured is very twisty and full of obstacles. But there are deeper wider ones to just float down too.

They all eventually go out to Lake Michigan. I haven't paddled the channels with the big boats off the big lake yet.

I have a bad knee. Torn from snowboarding and our furniture business in Colorado. The interior ligament is half gone and now a bit problematic.

But of course nothing like your knee. Whew!

I forgot to answer your question. These are recreational kayaks. Very wide. And large opening. And they have sit on tops.

Look up sundolphin Aruba 10 for the green one. And evoke Navarro 100 the yellow for specs.

If you are real big the 12' models will likely be better.

looks fun. on days like today being on the river getting high, throwing some flys out relaxing would be paradise for me.

im tall, but not big big anymore i lost a shit load of weight before getting hurt. im six foot 4 200lbs now.

Nope purely genetics. My tent temps have been 86 to 89. Need to set up some ventilation. Hence all my lovely foxtails lol. Oh well they smoke all the same.
I like color so I try to pick out a purple strain every time I order something. But these buckeye have had the darkest purple so far.
