Molasses will work to help inhance flavor as well as resin production but there are basicly super molasses products on the market by nearly every maker of nutrients that involve not only the sugars but many trace minerals that will help in the uptake and usage of those same sugars.........here are a couple of links to examples

Good luck and these products definately make a difference ive run same strains with and with out ..........(the with) was much more flavorful and sticky

if you want to use molassas use blackstrap, and not the stuff you get in your grocery store. 1oz blackstrap molassas per gallon of water the last 6 weeks of flowering will significantly increase resin production and increase yeild.

Using agave instead of molasses for carbs.

The "medicine man" from High Times, Adrew H. (his last name isn't a secret, but I forget it), teaches a course at the THC foundation here in Portland, which I took. It costs $70 and consists of seven individual two-hour lectures, with demonstrations and participation too (making clones and making/trying bubble-hash and honey-oil, etc.). Most states that have medical marijuana programs also have THC foundation clinics, so if you're lucky enough to live in one of those states, I highly recommend using them to help become a medical marijuana patient, and expert grower. Getting back to the subject: the "medicine man" teaches that molasses builds-up too much iron and potassium over time, so he recommends using agave instead. Agave actually has much more concentrated carbs than molasses, which has had most of it's carbs (sugar) removed during processing. Sucanat (Sugar Cane Natural) is raw sugar before having the molasses removed, so it can be used instead of molasses - it has more sugar and so provides a better boost. Agave may be a better source of carbs than sucanat though, and I've started using it instead, because the "medicine man" recommended making the switch, plus it makes sense to me scientifically. Our local "People's" cooperative has organic raw light agave in bulk, and that's what my babies get for a carb boost now. I stop using compost solution (which is all I use for nutes) at about week 5, and start using "hygrowzyme" as a catalyst, continue using "Earth Juice" for a catalyst, and start adding agave for a carbohydrate boost, which results in bigger, sweeter buds. The last couple of waterings I only use slightly acidified water to flush the soil really well, per medicine man's recommendation. That means the hygrozyme and agave is only used for 2-3 weeks during weeks 5-7, but that's enough to make a difference!! I suppose using more hygrozyme and agave a bit earlier in flowering might boost them more, perhaps alternating with compost solution during the first few weeks might be a good strategy. ANYways, that's how I'm doing it now, but I've constantly adjusted the way I grow during the last ten years, since I first became an Oregon Medical Marijuana Act program 'patient'. We have a medical marijuana awards each year, and clones of the winning strains are made available to patients - how cool is that? If you don't have a medical marijuana program in your state, please contact your local NORML organization to help make it happen - it CAN happen! It happened here in 1998 - Oregon was the second state after California to approve a medical marijuana law, but it only happened because "we the people" MADE it happen! Medical marijuana is opening the door for cannabis hemp, which will soon become the most powerful economic engine in the world (it's already begun), as it helps us transform our society to locally based food, education, and commerce. Cannabis will save the planet, but that's a different subject...

Wiz,
What a post for being only your 2nd lol. I read it word for word, great info!!

I was very surprised to see the effect they had on my trainwreck and blue cheese. About 25-35% more bud weight. 1 tsp per gallon for the last 2 weeks before flush. This will give them time to absorb and use the nutrients in the molasses. Happy Growing and good luck with your grow!

I use sugars for a while and I have never seen a 20-30% increase in weight on any strain. I would love to read documented proof of this. I use it to help a plant not make one. If I got that kind of increase I would never bitch about carboload prices. If I thought I could tell people that you would get a 30% increase in bud weight I would have a new thriving business. Suerte JK

unsulphured, blackstrap molasses is a godsend! FORGET paying 60 bucks for AN (or any other CHEM company.....Sweet etc etc etc )..................the right molasses will feed you micro-fungi and more..............it also provides the plant with a small boost of iron, calcium, and magnesium.................amen

funk...............no product is gonna increase weight..............and why the fuck is weight a concern...............if it's DANK it's DANK............and whether that's 3 oz or 3 pounds............all the same :)

unsulphured, blackstrap is where it's at for resin profile........:damnhippie:

SS I think you need to read better. I do not want to speak for him but I do not think TK would have said that. I believe you were referring to a thread that TK posted. It was written by the 3 b's but that's another story. Always look to see where your info from, has it been documented. Then you just use common sense. If people thought they could get 30%, the hydro stores would have 50 gal barrels full of all the exotic best ever molasses from around the world. It works well at what it does, but again it is just sucrose you need other 'toses to be more complete. JK

I was not planning on it but i guess that would be a cool experiment. I have a perpetual going right now so i could try the bud candy on the ones that are just starting to flower and compare it to pictures of the molasses only plants at day 30 or so.

Save your time the bud candy will give you bigger buds.Unless you grow shit why use it? Does your bud need 10% grape juice and 10% cranberry juice and sandlewood oil to put flavor in your bud? Why grow exotic weed and give it all the same flavor?
You would do better by using some aminos, sugars, and fulvic acid and a whole hell of a lot cheaper. Aminos, fulvic, and Magnesium Phosphate will plump up your buds and get the terpenes going. JK

The bud candy wasn't expensive ($26) and it doesn't have 10% grape juice nor cranberry juice, that's an exaggeration at best lol. It has cranberry and grape "extract" and i don't see anything on the label that says sandlewood. I just don't see how a carbo enhancer has the ability to take any genetics and turn the buds into the same flavor. I think if anything it will enhance the natural flavors of the bud itself. Im running 3 strains and i doubt they'll all taste the same. But maybe I'm wrong i guess we'll see.
It has Amino acids and molasses and i use epsoms for magnesium. I know some people are against AN because they are "expensive" but this is my first time using their product and I want to see how it works. Have you ever used bud candy?:cool0010:
I'm not saying your method is wrong, all of the things you mentioned are excellent for what I am trying to achieve as well.
