I said 'legal' not 'commercialized'. Two separate topics my friend. I want cannabis to be legal just like bananas are. The quicker it gets legalized across the nation, the less likely it is to be commercialized. If it was never made illegal in the first place, everyone and their sister would be farming it.

I would love to see everyone that grows it medically donate their stems to a factory that produces clothes for the homeless. That sound ignorant and unintelligent to you?

Just cus it's two different words it doesn't mean it won't happen the same time. Ask around big corps already have the land locked and loaded to start growing when it becomes federally legal. It takes one year of it being fully legal before ur taking dabs made from the same mother fuckers that make nyquil. Why would u buy shit for more money that is produced by people that aren't really experts and don't really have the best available knowledge and resources? The mass marketplace is gonna buy commercial pot just like the masses buy packs of cigs over the minority that rolls their own tobacco. I will be in that minority and so will most of the farmers here but the masses are gonna buy up the good cheap shit mass produced by Phillip Morris and shit and there fore killing the profit and will to grow of many current small time growers.

You have good points bro, but here in Michigan there are tons of micro breweries (organic ones even) that are THRIVING, all while the beer market is flooded with cheap toxic beer.
I don't think us connoisseur farmers will have much to worry about.
Commercial growers that have inferior quality will be the ones that get hurt.

We agree more than you think, I just have an overly optimistic view sometimes, maybe that is just my ignorance shining through :P

VANCOUVER’S MARIJUANA MUSEUM IS CASHED OUT
Herb museum fb 800x600

Puff, puff, pass: Vancouver’s very own homage to the art and history of pot has closed up shop.

The Herb Museum, located in the B.C. Marijuana Party building on West Hastings–”in the famous Pot Block of ‘Vansterdam’” as they describe–has opted to pack it in to make room for a seed sanctuary.

Launched a decade ago, the museum’s David Malmo-Levine, told Vancouver 24hrs of late they were getting about a dozen visitors daily to their five rooms of exhibits boasting over 1,200 artifacts.

The Herb Museum has sold off much of their collection on pot and herbal medicine to a forthcoming marijuana museum opening in Detroit, Michigan. On Facebook, The Herb Museum explained to fans that the collection will be “installed in a much larger location where it will be exposed to much more traffic” than they were getting Vancouver.

Malmo-Levine, who has been hailed as “Canada’s most flamboyant pot activists,” intends to use the profits from the sale to open up a marijuana dispensary with an emphasis on the preventative medicinal uses of pot. He’s looking at spaces in Kitsilano and Kerrisdale, notes Vancouver 24hrs.

Closed for business for good on October 31, the museum will now live on through its website, which will remain active, and plans are in the works for a coffee table-style art book, according to the venue.

Some of the remaining art will be auctioned off tonight, Thursday November 20, from 8-11 p.m. at the B.C. Marijuana Party’s Vapor Lounge.

Looks like Florida is exactly what the medical pot is coming to, rich people fighting over it. A trial lawyer and billionaire controlled the elections, not patients and the people who wanted it. Now to say this doesn't happen elsewhere is a falsehood on my part, I'm just pointing to the fact it was pretty visible down there.

I'm not a billionaire, but I do question why Sheldon and Miriam Adelson fought so hard against pot being for MEDICAL use. Their son apparently was a victim of drug overdose, and they are choosing medical pot to protest against by dumping millions into a campaign against it? I guess, but that's not how I would have done it. If I lost my son, I would probably do some crazy shit too.

But I have to ask the question:
How long before this guy opens a casino, or 10, in Florida? With all that money he's poured into the state, you would think the permits and laws would be wide open for him to do it, right?

TNT Looking for New Funding Avenues

As times change, it's becoming harder for the Traverse Narcotics Team to pay for what they do.

TNT is a drug team that covers eight counties including Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Missaukee, Osceola, and Wexford.

Missaukee County Sheriff Jim Bosscher is the chairman of TNT and says they're taking a close look at their budget to see what options they have.

According to Bosscher, their two main sources of revenue are drying up, including forfeitures and grant money.

He says grant money is getting diverted to treatment instead of enforcement. And the legalization of marijuana has cutback their caseload and possible forfeitures. The popularity of meth and heroin has also been an issue because typically little to nothing is forfeited and if it is it's contaminated.

Bosscher says right now they have less than $100,000 to operate.

He's asking for the public's support as they look to each county they cover to step up and keep the team running.

9&10's Breelynn Martin and Photojournalist Jeff Blakeman spoke with the sheriff about their finances.

*scratches his head* Random post about florida in michigans medical thread?

Sorry I had 4 pages to catch up on, this Post was like 3 or 4 pages back that I commented on. But you seemed fine when another person posted? *scratches head* random likes going out I guess.

I read that a Billionaire from Vegas spent 5 mil in Florida running "Reefer Madness" type commercials this last month. Needless to say the amendment failed with only 57%. Bummer......

People are sheep and ignorant! You just wait, one day I'll be a millionaire and Im gonna own me some politicians!
