Hopefully everyone will read it and realize that it's a bad proposition and vote no.

We CAN sign ourselves up for costly legal battles, help de-legitimize medical mj, give power to the cities who aren't even making it easy for MMJ, offer a golden opportunity for large corporations to squeeze out the little grower, make parents worry that they're breaking a law if they smoke in the same house as their kids and not change much to get people better access or even change much in terms of legal penalties beyond the current laws.

Just wanted to be a part of all 3 of your yes on 19 threads. :-)

As a member of the liberty party there's almost no way I can vote for something called the "Tax, Regulate and Control Act". I don't even have to get into all the reasons why p19 is bad for cannabis. The simple fact that this is about additional government control makes the decision easy enough.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one Darth. I don't see how having Monsanto control the Marijuana Industry would be ANY good at all. Thats what this proposition will lead to. I don't agree with DJ Short on this. I don't see it being a good thing at all. It would crush places like Mendocino and Humboldt. Not too mention all the people who make a living being THC Farmers.

There will be a day when good legislation will be written. That day has not come yet. Before we can win this battle we have to get every state in the US to pass MMJ laws. MORE IMPORTANTLY the US government needs to recognize those rights. On top of all that. There is NO FEDERAL TAX STAMP for MJ. All these things need to happen before we can legalize it. Besides.....Arnie already decriminalized it.

What I still don't understand and have a hard time wrapping my head around is this.

Prop 215 classified MJ as a Medicine. So why is it that if I go to Walgreens and pick up a prescription I pay taxes, yet when I go to a dispensary I don't. Prescription companies make HUGE profits as do the places that sell their drugs. How come MMJ isn't regulated like that?

I know the lack of a federal tax stamp has a great deal to do with it. I just don't understand why they didn't have the foresight of this when they wrote 215. I think dispensaries should be allowed to profit. I also believe that MMJ like any other prescription drug should be taxed.

All of this is just my humble opinion.

^I'm guessing your a 2 time Bush voter and just 2 years ago got your head out of deep space 9. I can't possibly grasp how bush can fuck the usa up so badly in 8 years and then have a president come in after (death sentence if you ask me) and expect immediate results which were gotten btw in small percentages. Lemme drop a jewel on you and then explain because I'm sure the message will be lost 'It's 20 times easier to break something than it is to fix it'. Meaning I can take a baseball bat to my led tv and destroy it in 10 seconds, and to fix that same tv it may take someone 8+ hrs. Or maybe I've done so much damamge it can't even be fixed EVER. Ya get me? Reminded me of a funny John Stewart episode when he was talking about how we no longer have any good allies well strong allies this of course was 5 years ago maybe 4 and he said some random countries nobody heard of as most of em and for one of em he said 'that's funny they don't even have and army, what are they gonna do send us some free Ps3s so we can play against them in call of duty?'. Of course I can't say jokes very well after I hear em not one of my better qualities. Bush admin gas: 4.50$ per gallon 4.00$ low per gallon. I haven't seen it even get close to 4 with obama in office. Not that that's all I care about I just don't have time to list and spell everything out. It's fri son.

Honest question DF, did you vote for Obama?

I was in the war zone last election and didn't consider choosing between two socialists worthy of an absentee ballot in a state where Obama was a lock. In short, no.

FTR, I'm not an ideologue. I would have supported ANY candidate that understood the housing bubble and economics.

Good luck on 19 passing...

Hardy Har Har..

I voted already and I voted no..

let me school you about the psychology of the CA voter on Nov. 2nd...

ready?....

We don't want any new fangled tax system based on pot...

Do we really want to have MJ use explode just so we can try to cash in? ..

Frankly, this state has enough problems right now...

that's the deal Darth..

Besides, the people heading to the voting

booths are conservative and fed up.. but mostly fed

up..

right now Prop 19 has about 46% in favor with the robo

polls (rumored to be more accurate than live ones due

to the social stigma of admitting to being in favor of

legalization to a live person..) IT NEEDS 50% to

PASS

Historically ballot initiatives need 60% or greater to pass

heading into Nov. 2nd...

at between 43% and 48%, prop 19 aint even close homey...

find another poorly thought out cause to champion...

LOL - Did you really just use the term "new-fangled" and take 3 paragraphs to "explain" that a vote requires 50% to win?

maybe canada will be the 1st to set the world straight or Mexico...who knows. Monsanto don't need prop 19 to get their hands on the mj industry. if they wanted it to pass it would not be an initiative it be before the legislature. people think by saying no to this it will stop them(big business) you dont have close the money to stop them. If they can give a whole town cancer and get away with it what do you think will stop them...you voting no?10 people passing a joint in a circle know whats best...? this vote affects the whole world, this is crazy.

the only people voting NO are pot growers and law enforcemnt...give me a break

Yeah kid that shit bugs me out too. The only people voting no are potheads who normally don't vote, and law enforcement who need it not to pass for their jobs if they didn't have them big weed busts during outdoor seasons they wouldn't have much. O my bad some of em got political a whole 2 years ago. I wanna know where you nit pickers were when 215 passed. You could've just as easily took some shit outta context from that bill and scared some dumb ass greedy growers with that shit. Other states are making progress I think 60% in NY are for MMJ, NJ just passed a shitty measure, and I heard PA has an 80% MMJ approval rate, which makes me wonder wtf is going on there. 80% shit you can't deny that. Highest in the nation and prolly literally the highest in the nation lol. Maine got shit rockin, Rhode island, shit not to mention CO, and Wash. Let em vote no, we get it crackin over here quicker anyways. If only politics weren't so closely nit on the east being as how the white house and all that is over here and they just got 'the terminator'. He won the no vote by saying 'weed is for girly men' prolly. I know that's how he won the campaign, 'the other guy is a girly man'. Tough crowd.

The only people voting no are potheads (who normally don't vote)? What world do you live in? Where do you get your "facts"? Do you only read on canna sites, or do you apprise yourself of any of the other goings on in the world?

How about we start talking about who the voting public really is? Because, I can assure you, it's not "mostly potheads who normally don't vote" who are going to determine whether or not 19 passes.

The good folks at Oaksterdam University are behind Prop 19(flawed or not) and have been instrumental in so many ways over the years in all aspects of the MJ wars. They have there shit together like no others and are on our side. Oh, and by the way there are law enforcement agencies backing this as well.

http://yeson19.com/ad/

This is the next step in our war for nationwide legalization..

Cheers

this measure failing is gonna be the fan of the flames for law enforcement. they will have proof that people don't want weed legal. but if prop 19 was to pass, it would say hey man step back, do your jobs and keep violent offenders behind bars. stop harassing people for a joint. you can say they don't put people in jail for a joint anyway, but how often does a joint lead to a bigger bust? they smell smoke and want to search your vehicle, or they follow a trail. bust some guy with a joint put the screws to him he gives up his boy and its a domino affect. before you know it there's a 10 lbs bust of some guy in a whole differnt town. all because some dude don't want anything on his record.

WEll either way it goes...
I hope it is a Step Forward .. funny thing about a Tax on MJ
The Government Already has a Tax for it .. granted that
was a long time ago.. but it like 100 an OZ .. they charged
but you needed the Stamps for it to be legal, and you could
not get the Stamps without the Marijuana ,and if you had it
when youd go to get the Stamps It'd be Illegal and they'd arrest
People ... So they had you either way ... Tricky BassturdZ~!!!
