Though I will say I brew less these days than I used to. The availability of affordable good beer, (because honestly calling it craft beer is annoying to me for some reason) has made it less worth it. It takes me about 4 hrs to brew 10 gallons of beer, and there is a schwack of cleaning involved. About once a month or every other month thing now. I used to brew every other weekend religiously for about 7 years.

Here is my tip for the day , take it as you will, I don't use any store bought foliar spays because I use my own , but foliar feeding is very important, in the week leading up to flip, 1, I pre load with pre flower mixture, its mix of grow and flower formula , 2 very important I give a light feeding of just Ca and kelp maybe 3 days before flip, 3 a light foliar spray of Ca and kelp, maybe 2 days before flip, and a light foliar spray of micro nutrients , I do this at various times in the plants grow but I think this week is most important. why is this important , Ca and B have slow uptake rates and they need each other for uptake, B is the important one its because it aids in fine structure of cell walls, Roots , meristematic tissue , bud sites, the amount of bud sites , and the structure and size/quality of buds, pollen etc, So you can see why B is so important at the time of flip, for bud sites , structure and the stretch of the plant to name a few. the Boron is in the kelp , kelp is rich with mannitol boron is complexed with this and moves freely through the plant, another way to get B is by using Borax but I don't recommend that to anyone until you have a firm grasp on what your doing. forgot to mention B also aids in the uptake of P and K

Have you ever made alegar with your spent grains and hops? That's on my list of experiments to try, I used to do a fish and chips dish with alegar made from the last of an old Guinness keg and other beers, but not with the separated mash and hops.

No, I've never even heard of it lol. Spent grain goes to my buddy for his chickens and hops go in the compost.

Interesting you should say that. My buddy also recommends a foliar but I've long been a keep it dry up top guy. PM is a huge concern in the wetter parts of the PNW. Probably gonna be a while before I feel confident about trying this but the more people who say it, the more it makes sense.
I do supplement with kelp extract and calcium silicate though.

What's alegar?
It's the technical term for vinegar made from beer instead of wine. It's just the next step in fermentation, where the "mother" forms that turns the alcohol into acetic aced.
Also obvs for the record I'm now staunchly pro-foliar. Powdered sulfur and epsom salts once a week from before flip to a couple weeks before chop, and I haven't fought PM in months. You know this, but *gestures around to everyone else*

Mega crop basically 2-1-3. I feel personally most ferts are in the same league. It's just how bad we fuck them up with different additives. Also bacteria need food sources. In purely synthetic for the most part that missing so some organics need to be added. In hydro and I would say soiless we want to minimally add some organics. I feel mega crop has a good mix in this area to provide minimal amounts... I mean we can always add but it's no secret the amount of food will essentially determine the overall population. I would say enzymes in this are are much more beneficial because we don't need to keep thriving bacterial colonies to get thier benefits.
In soil with organics there would be no need for enzymes imo.
Man, megacrop keeps changing it lol. My V3 is closer to, but not exactly a 3-2-6 ratio. Way too much K for coco.

It would. Foliage pro with potassium silicate is very similar to say using calmag and pure blend pro, except you also get silicate! lol.
The other thing is honestly, overall the actual proportions need to be close but not exact. I know a guy that ran plant prod 20-20-20 and grew deadly pot somehow lol.
Even in that Dyna grow video I think if you listen closely though, he says that the requirements for the plant throughout its life dont change that much, but that doesnt mean they dont benefit from any changes ever. And even though photoperiodism is the primary trigger for flowering in Cannabis, that's not to say there arent secondary modes of enhancing or triggering the effect. Crop steering is something that not a lot of people mess with but there is absolutely some scientific truth to it.
Even in the old grow books higher P is suggested at seedling stage and during stretch. Which makes perfect sense as P is so necessary for good stem growth.
One of the reasons i liked the ratio of PBP grow.

Lol. I got sidetracked researching entry level hunting rifles for Mrs. MMG. Who has started fishing and now wants to hunt. She is a country girl with some gun loving military family.
Walmart here has a remington 783 308 cal. Bolt action rifle with unbranded scope for only $220. After some reading we are going to get it.
I sold my guns years ago when i started moving around away from colorado. I could have used my .22 for some varmints around my house out here.

For sure. But pbp grow or even floranova grow or any other nutrient I've used didnt come close to what's going on with my stems right now. Not to mention the preflower explosion I mentioned earlier. I think Pbp grow is an excellent base but I'm starting to lean in the direction of believing that the plant benefits from a Pk boost over and above what pbp grow provides, before flower even starts. My last dozen or so grows running a base nutrient until at least week 2 of flower have always had some strains exhibit purple pinstriping. I honestly feel kinda stupid for not putting 2 and 2 together.

Look into a .243 or a .270. way lighter recoil and laser beam trajectory. Perfect ladies gun, but even a lot of my male family members use them for deer.

Her shooting award winning brother just suggested the same .270. But this 308 is hundreds cheaper than any local option.
I wanted the winchester but only the 308 is on sale for $330 at cabellas. Which means we have to drive all the way to grand rapids and dont want to.
This remington is 20 min away.
Is a 308 too much for midrange field and woods hunting? She is not a weak little girl. She is strong and tough.
What are the pros and cons please?

.308 is a fine rifle if your wife enjoys the recoil. But I wouldnt say it's a fun gun to shoot. And when practicing if you dont like the shot in the arm, you develop a flinch. Then hitting the deer gets hard lol.
.270 I could shoot all day long. Little muzzle jump and little recoil.
The other advantage is calculating ballistics. A .308 is going to have more drop past 200 yds than a .270 which flies flat for a lot longer since its a smaller and faster bullet. So in the field, if your wife sees a deer she can put crosshairs on it anywhere inside 300yds and hit it without thinking about how much that bullet is gonna drop.

Even me personally if I was going to buy another hunting rifle for myself, it would be in .270 hands down. I have owned both and shot both a lot and the .308 is a bit too serious for me lol. I personally like a gun that isnt terribly violent when I pull the trigger.
