Beautiful plant, no 10 degrees swing is no biggieHey everyone! Im growing a seed i got from a bag of Platinum Garlic OG from Triple Seven out here in AZ. Iv had some trouble keeping the temps down where my grow tent used to be, so i dedicated an extra room to it. I was keeping my temps between 70° and 80°, but with the new setup i think i can keep temps lower. Anyone think il stress her out too much if i lower temps by 5-10° on average? Shes only about 5 weeks old at this point.
Il post a couple baby pictures too so everyone can see her progression :)
Growing in purple cow indicanja soil using distilled water with a humidifier running basically 24/7 (AZ dry as fuck) in a 3 gallon fabric pot in a vivosun 2x2x4 grow tent with a 100W dimmable/adjustable vivosun aerolight
Might clog your system.Yo does anyone have any experience using drip systems? Would it be a bad idea to mix my nutes into 0.5L of water and slow feed that as my drip system waters? Or would it be better to just mix at the recommended rate and just hand water when feeding?
Also heres a little timelapse of my plant over a couple days lol you can see shes gettin thirsty, its pretty cool to watch
I've noticed a lot of more experienced growers are coming around to this method. I find that it pretty much does away with deficiencies. I haven't had one in.......I can't remember the last time I had one. They aren't incompatible. "Salts" merely save your microbiome a step or two in the breakdown of organic matter into inorganic matter, aka "salts". If I'm doing combiganic, which is basically just utilizing microbes in concert with inroganic nutes, then I first use only 1/3 of the recommended dosage and then feed that amount every 3-4 days, instead of just one weeky feeding. I tend to get more steady growth without the spurts and lulls of weekly feeding. Combine that with regular inoculations and you've got a really efficient system in place. They use microbes to clean up hazmat sites so I think they can handle a few "salts". Lol
I have nothing against inorgsnics, I just hate all the measuring, mixing and pH adjustment crap. I just prefer to water and get on with shit.
If you have synthetic nutrients, drip system will work fine. Organic liquid nutes will clog them up. You still want to run plain water through every once in awhile to clean salt build up when running synthetics.Yo does anyone have any experience using drip systems? Do you use Flora Nova?I've noticed a lot of more experienced growers are coming around to this method. I find that it pretty much does away with deficiencies. I haven't had one in.......I can't remember the last time I had one.
I tested my salt ferts in a petrie dish with some agar and it didn't affect any of the organic life in the dish. It grew like normal. I emailed GH asking if FloraNova was organic or not. Their response was that there are organics in the mix. Somehow they've figured out how to condition the salt ions to not affect the microbial life.
I feed half doses at every feed which, in flower, is usually every 3 - 4 days. I don't really go by measurement by spoon as much as I do it by PPM.
Stupid phone lol il try the video again soon lol sorryTry again on the video.
Well i was asking if it might give my plant nute burn or screw up the soil somehow if i did it this way lolMight clog your system.
That's why I'm not using my drip system in my 8x4 anymore, clogged it right up with General Organics Biothrive lol.Well i was asking if it might give my plant nute burn or screw up the soil somehow if i did it this way lol
Basically i wanted to know if i can let the drip system run for a little bit, then mix my nutes into a small amount of water and dump that on the soil while the drip system is running.
Iv figured out that putting ANYTHING organic, especially when combined with microbes, will clog the shit out of my tiny little single plant system iv got lol i dont want that at all
This stuff works, use it all the time when I'm using the blumats. Sustained Village recommended the product. That's why I'm not using my drip system in my 8x4 anymore, clogged it right up with General Organics Biothrive lol.
Hahahaha yea i have to leave those night times really dark, cant have that IR light messin up my flower lol il try to get more timelapse as time goes onIt worked. But I exited on the first lights off because I got confused. Then I watched it again. She is looking good man. I really want to see some time lapse of the flower! Gunna be sweet
What cameras are you using?Hahahaha yea i have to leave those night times really dark, cant have that IR light messin up my flower lol il try to get more timelapse as time goes on
Im using the wyze v3 camera. Its really awesome lolWhat cameras are you using?
The Roku cameras I use have a far and near night vision mode, in near mode there's no visible light and can still see plants good in black and white. I've used 2 of them for 3 grows now in my 8x4 with no ill effect.
Wyze actually makes the Roku cameras but Roku has their own app and it has it's issues, wish I would of just bought the Wyze. They work fine, I take a still picture everyday and then make them into a giant gif at the end of the grow as my timelapse.Im using the wyze v3 camera. Its really awesome lol
So when i was looking for a camera i started looking into a lot of things about light, ended up watching a video by Bruce Bugby talking about cannabis and its sensitivity to light. I guess cannabis is one of the most sensitive plants in the world to light, and he was saying the plants can even pick up the IR light emitted from cameras, even if that light isnt visible to us. I also heard that cannabis can be bred in certain ways to produce fully feminized seeds which cant herm.
The only reason i bring that up is because all im using right now is bag seed, so i dont know if these seeds are feminized or not and i dont wanna risk it doing that hahaha so i ended up getting the one that has the option to completely turn off the night vision, just as a precaution lol im sure if i got some feminized auto seeds theyd be perfectly fine. But im never sure if these are gonna be photo or auto either haha
How do you like your roku cameras? I love the wyze so far, but the timelapse option is set up kinda dumb lol thatd be my only complaint so far
I do.Do you use Flora Nova?
I've ran a few different liquid nutrients and the Flora Trio is the one I keep going back to, I'm running Botanicare for the first time in a photoperiod grow and I bought the full line so 8 bottles total and so far I'm seeing nothing different then when I use the Flora Trio. Also some of the ml/gal for botanicare is crazy, 18 ml/gal for pure blend pro bloom soil at every watering so 2 quarts it pretty much takes for a full grow and you don't even start using it until flower. I think my highest dose for 1 of the Flora Trio is 8 ml/gal.
I probably won't use botanicare again, if I do it will be only some of their supplements such as Vitamino, Liquid Karma, Pure Blend Tea, and Hydroplex in conjunction with the Trio series.
I asked if you used the Nova because I was thinking of trying it because I read it's basically a highly concentrated version of the Trio mixed together. The only reason I haven’t tried it is because I heard it is thick as molasses and mixing can be difficult.
Beautiful!Im really tempted to pick up the flora nova stuff now. I wanna see if the local shop has it, if not i might get it off amazon.
Heres a couple pictures the day after her first ever feed! Looks like i might wanna either add slightly more calmag or more of the supercharger, one of them has a good amount of iron in it. New growth looks a little light still. But shes officially growing flowers :)
Also in one of the pictures you can see a little orange hair lol just thought it was cool to see haha
Hmmmm ok heres a question then. My system came with a little filter you can attach to the end of the hose that you put in your reservoir. It looks almost like little clay balls in a plastic cage lol. Do you think that might work ok for the debris from the floranova?Beautiful!
I would opt for Flora Trio rather than FloraNova if you decide to use drip irrigation. FT doesn't have any organics in it so the solution is clean and clear which will help in keeping your drip lines, and especially your drip heads, clear of any debris that will clog them up. You can use Drip Clean to keep your lines and emitters clear but prevention is always the best way to go.
FloraNova, while thick, will dilute down but will carry some sediment in it. I run FN through my irrigation system but I don't use drip emitters so I don't have to worry about them clogging. The choke point in my system is the drip distribution head. It has a filter screen to keep debris out of the drip lines so I have to clean it up after every few feedings. I can probably let it go for a few weeks of feedings but I'm anal about keeping my system clean and unobstructed.
