This is my first real grow!

Looks like deseeded mexican brick weed....... Have you shown your manager the plant you are growing? Maybe he needs to understand what "good" weed looks like.

To be honest, i might rather the mexican brick weed lol at least they wont lie and tell me its amazing and high testing.... $30 an 8th for that crap........

I have a lot of conversations around the store with people, a lot of people there are growing or used to grow and they all tell me that my plant is insane compared to theirs. One dude even told me to submit it to high times i feel like thats a bit much but hey il take the compliment lol

Anyways, my boss is one of those people iv had those conversations with and showed my plant before. I also run around the entire store letting everyone smell the pound im weighing if i think its really good, so i think he has an idea of what truly good flower is hahaha i know why he supports that vendor so strongly, i wont say why but i know lol

I found a single living fungus gnat floating around in my humidifier water last night! right when im about to be gone for a fuckin week. Thats beyond fuckin annoying. I know i can spray the soil down with a good amount of neem oil spray, that shit killed off the fungus gnats in my lady's potted plants last year. Il have to make sure her dad knows to keep an eye out for them.

How wet is the soil before you water again? Sometimes gnats come from soil that stays too wet. Gnats like to lay their eggs in wet soil giving the larvae a water source to be able to develop into. You may want to let them go a day longer even if the plant is starting to show signs of wanting water. Drier soil doesn't allow the gnat larvae to develop properly, and they die off in the soil.

Of course you don't want to let the plant go dry but if you can give an extra day to dry back you may be able to get rid of your gnat population. I used to use sticky traps to get rid of gnats but ever since I've been keeping an eye on soil saturation levels I don't get gnats anymore so I don't bother hanging traps.

I was letting it get pretty dry before watering. Not all the way of course, but i always let it dry out enough to make the plant show me shes thirsty. The little fucker was hangin out in the humidifier reservoir, so hopefully it felt like the soil was too dry. Either way, i set my waterer to give water 1 day later just to make sure the problem doesnt get out of hand while im gone. I think il have the problem under control pretty quickly when i come back.

When i amend this soil after i used it, im gonna add some ground up neem pellets to give a touch of pest resistance. I heard good things about black swallow, i might use some of their amendments.

Also, cant do the timelapse this week, reception is terrible camping. But i can take a snapshot from the tent cam at least lol

How to Use Mosquito Bits for Fungus Gnats: Ultimate Guide

To use mosquito bits for fungus gnats, simply sprinkle the bits on the topsoil of your plants. Fungus gnats can be a nuisance for indoor gardeners, as their
insectpestfacts.com

You can first make a tea out of the bits and water it in. Sprinkle the rest on your topsoil.

I'd stay away from amending pesticides into your soil. Neem is natural but best to keep it as clean as you can. You're growing organically right? Bits is a natural, organic insecticide. The bits will control any gnat infestation if you get any more, besides, it was just one gnat. If you see a bunch more I would start thinking about controlling them with the bits. If you want to be proactive about it you can just make a bits tea and water it in before you leave. The tea alone will probably wipe them out.

You are doing a heck of a job providing ideal conditions! VDP is right! I'm not sure why you want cooler? If it ain't broke, don't mess with it! Lol.

Overall, plants are forgiving over a good range of deltas, but certainly some more then others! You can go cooler if intent is to try to get color when flowering?? Either way, you're well on your way to the growing addiction lol.

Haha yea main reasons i wanted to lower the temps through flower is to help preserve the terps and hopefully give a little extra color to the buds :)

And the addiction has absolutely started. I dont plan on not growing a plant at any point in the future lol

Im back from vacation! Plant is making my whole house smell lol pretty fuckin awesome to come home to. She was incredibly thirsty since i extended the watering by 1 day. No gnats though! :)

Giving her water righmeow, but i noticed she has a little bit of nutrient burn on her flowers. Nothing crazy, hopefully it doesnt get worse after this watering. I didnt add nutrients today but the nutes i add are dry and scratched into the top soil. The nute burn doesnt look bad enough for me to feel worried right now, il just keep an eye on it.

Enjoy the timelapse and the new pictures :) plus a couple from vacation lol

Hey so iv got a couple quick questions, hopefully someone has some experience they can share. Iv noticed since i got back from vacation that a few things are goin on with my plant and just wanted to make sure its all normal.

I can see some burnt tips on the leaves of the buds, i see some leaves in the under-canopy losing color and some are turning brown and crunchy (kinda seems like theyre dying off) and iv noticed most of the leaves at the top of the canopy are starting to curl downwards slightly.

Im pretty sure the leaves in the under-canopy are just doing what they do at this stage in the grow (53 days since light was flipped to flower, so about 7 weeks in)

I think the burnt leaf tips are because i gave a little bit more nutes before leaving for vacation, kinda had a feeling that would happen but it isnt bad so im not too worried about it

And i think the top leaves curling inward/downward is probably from too much light? Or possibly too much nitrogen? Im not entirely sure

I dont want to misdiagnose whats going on, its possible these 3 things together could mean something else?

For context, i scratched 1TBSP of purple cow fertilizer into the top soil about a week ago, i held off on watering for an extra day while i was on vacation (thought i might have fungus gnats), and i keep my 100W vivosun aerolight about 8 inches from canopy at 100% power. I know @Captspaulding has given me good advice on this light before, but since im a first time grower i kinda wanted to push it and see for myself hahaha and up until now shes been happy as can be!

Anyways, as always any input is much appteciated!

It’s just some standard die back on the lower canopy. Man happens to every plant. You know it’s good looking looks like you could up the p a little bit. But honestly man, they look good. I really wouldn’t rock the boat too terribly much. I just stayed the course until they’re done fat buds, dude.

Agree. Your light may be a tad high but the plant looks good so I would leave it as is for now. You can maybe back the light off a hair and see how the leaves react?

I think i might turn it down to 90% tonight and just see if theres any difference. If no difference il just bump back up to 100% and leave it, i agree with both of you that i shouldnt mess with things too much on the final stretch. Already pushed it a little with the nutrients i think haha

You might like the brush better than scissors, I did. Since we have similar drying environments you might come to the same conclusion. I might have over dried my plants a tad so the brush was kinda of destructive to some more crispy buds. It tore them up a bit. But it sure rips the leaves off. I eventually settled to using my fingers because after they get a little sticky the leaves just clung and let me pull them off so easy.
