The past two years, I had mice chewing on plants.. and gophers eating roots..
The cats are on guard this year :)

you also did the box beds to prevent gophers right?
I just saw a baby mouse in my plants this morning when I uncovered the tarp. I may have to set up some traps, did you try any last year and were they effective at all?
Have you considered no trespassing signs?The 1st year, I set lots of traps..they didnt work well. and if the mice chew all the way around the trunk...the plant dies :(
Last year..I tried traps and Tangle foot(sticky stuff) and I put plastic bottles on the trunks to protect them..that helped some.
