Absolutely possible. The great thing about elite clones is the works already done for you. You know it's a proven winner, it's the gem pheno out of a population. But a s1 recombines those gene so to speak, you won't get identical progeny, so get ready to hunt. For instance jackmayoffer found a superior(?) pheno than the gg4 out of a 500 seed s1 hunt.do you believe it is possible to find a better rendition of a mother plant from an (s1) seed or do you think it is not possible?

So u could possibly find it in a single seed. Would just have to be the right one. All boils down to chance. The truth though is u could run those 500 and not find something better as well. If it was easy everyone would have elites. In saying that though once u grow for a while(not saying u haven't been) u will see the elites are awesome but anytime you run a pack of seeds u should find something awesome. Ya know. I got very caught up in chasing them down for a long time. Found a bunch more importantly I found a bunch of great people in the process. Sorry I'm high and getting off track. As long as what u have is fire ur good. No not necessarily, just how he did it. People find elites all the time while running low count seed pops. But in selection, the more you can run the better, always. Refer back to NT's post. Those guys can find and do shit in a month what takes us smaller guys years. But yes you may have to eventually pop 500 to find one that is superior. Who knows. It's all probability.

i feel the same way.. i just wanted to know what others are feeling about it.. i don't understand why people are so anti selfing.. well i kinda do,, i just don't fully agree.. i have found some amazing/easyto grow/ high yeilding/powerful fem crosses in my garden. i can tell you first hand that i own a selfed version as well as the original cuts of Chemdog #4, 91 and Chemdog D,, and the 91 s1 and Chemdog D s1 keepers that i carefully selected, are both blowing the originals out of the water…my originals are kind of old right about now.. but they still kick ass when they get special attention..So u could possibly find it in a single seed. I've seen better pheno's come off regular filial generations, even better in bx in my opinion, with a s1 you will get a pretty close copy to mother, so I dnt think it could be better because you didn't add anything to the equation. i here you,, i'm just speaking from a present position, when you have 20 year old strains that lost some of its vigor and punch that she had in there first few years.. i agree.. i happen to have some amazing fem crosses.. and a gang of seeds in the fridge of some s1's and some crosses.. mostly chem crosses.. just warms my heart,lolAlso a fem cross of 2 completely different females, then the possibility becomes higher in my opinion, Fem A x Fem B = combination of fems A and Fem B & fem hybrids. So imo a fem cross is much better than s1's.
