sips nice , how do you like running those sips @SeaF0urno. I have a 3 gallon reservoir under each pot. I bottom water everything with capillary action and the tube allows me to bypass the soil. Dumping water can fuck up a delicate patch of young cover crop.... My pots allow me to leave the house for up to 2 weeks without a babysitter. The only time I had something like the pics above was because of an unexpected hospital stay and surgery... my pots couldnt keep up for 3 weeks... anyways, this is what they are and how they work.... should be self explanatory.

With low humidity the plants metabolism is in super high gear , definitely get your humidity up for veg space, i like mine in the mid 60's to 70's, slow there metabolism and it wont happen that quickly again.They're a crisp lol. Every leaf on there feels like i could turn it into dust. But i dumped a bunch of plain water on em. Hopefully it helps.... If not then.... Oh well.
I never got to flower out the sfv, though I heard its nothin to write home to mom about. Still, wish i could hang onto my ghost og.... : / bummed the most on losing those genetics then anything else. Great smoke. Came out real potent and tasty. Organics : ) nom nom. The longer i cure them the better and stronger the buds become it seems like.

Mine was out of two days of neglect lol. Still cant believe it happened that fast. I used to be able to water and let em sit for a week. Now, two days and i lose my whole veg space. I noticed my humidity was insanely low. Like 26%

Horse tail is high in silica, horse tail the plant, also silica can be found natural in shrimp and crab meal, which is also high in chitin which helps deter bugs double win. Also ferns are high in silica and rice hulls are also high in silica, you should be able to source these just about anywhere.I'm abroad (South America) that's the problem. And the filo-fascist Government here restricts access to everything foreign, both currency and imported products. So all the good stuff I see here (from seeds, to cloning gel, led lights, fertilizers) makes for wonderful eye candy but is out my reach.
My take out from this is simply to try and find a source of silica to add to my compost (which I make from grass clippings, kitchen refuse and such). Apparently volcanic ash is rich in silica, and back in April of this year there was a volcanic ash storm South of the country, so I'm gonna try to get some and mix it in.

That's cool I can respectI'm not aware of Jeremy actually using these and I have been using them for quite a few years, this is my design, but its based off a combination of capillary wicking beds and hugelkultur which has been around for hundreds if not thousands of years... I dont follow Jeremy's blogs personally, but he does seem to compile many things there. I've spoken with him occasionally over the years and he's not a bad guy, but I dont fall into the group he runs with... nothing personal.

just type in silicon or nitrogen etc... and "submit query"
to see what is in a given plant, use this one.
