Seriously, cheese quake is worse than both parents...lol

Hey, the pic of Cheese quake that is on his website makes that strain look great, but out of multiple packs I've seen someone grow they didn't have any keepers, just a bunch of fruity purplish nugs that don't compete with urkel and don't yield like the cheese...lol

Straight up, I've grown space tooth and double purple doja and seen many subcool varieties and they are all subpar in my experience. If he had any motivation he would invest in getting a new male besides his Space Queen/Jill...Just my opinion but his varieties are average at best.

Thread-Top ten strains

Hmmmmm, ........ HighTimes huh? Sweetbee would like to ask this question to Shanti, WallyDuck, Felix, Jorge, DJ, K,Kushman, and a whole bunch of Old School Vet growers. In my humble opinion between the northern tip of Vancouver Island and the Southern reaches of the Golden State lies some of the real hidden jewels of the cannabis world.
Open pollinated, freely shared seeds and genetics. There are Many unsung heros continuing in the propagation of this life confirming, sacred plant. My thanks to each of you for helping to make this a healthier planet- Sweetbee

I do not know the guy personallly but to me he seems to be a little full of himself, i could be way of base but i get that vibe also with arian (spelled wrong) i am a little interested in jackscleaner to those of have contributed so far thank you but i am looking for a list to compare even if you cut it 5 let me edit this as i know neither of these two men and boths seem to have done alot for medical pot...just seem greedy to me ..or more for money than love of plant, i could be wrong jmho

This is why i am asking because you guys out west are currently growing the best of 2012 so i can look back on this thread after cannabis cup and compare..... nothing against uk but we do it under fear of a gov't ever present propaganda of stupidity

"Propaganda of stupidity" . . . no short supply of that. As a long time gardener my experience has led me to believe that the world wide homogenization of genetics has left the general market rather generic . . . and now"feminization". Don't mean to offend anyone here, but corporate agriculture has already determined no one need produce their own seed. Is this REALLY what we want? Honest, ethical, foresightful thinking will "bring the cream to the top". If you've got a special creation, think about what a better place this world would be if cooperation and sharing "fueled" our future crops and harvest. gotta buzz, Sweetbee

1. og kush
2. headband
3. white fire
4. sour diesel
4. bubba kush
5. chem dawg
6. the white
7. herijuana
8. super lemon haze
9. purple urkle
10. socal master kush

without thinking too hard on it, these are probably some of the club favorites on the west coast, i know theres a whole bunch of less known rarer strains that are better but this is a general list. and when i say og, bubba, chem, sour d, etc im generalizing all of the different varieties together instead of making a list like 1. fire og 2. king louie og 3. yoda og 4. skywalker og etc. because that could be argued out here cuz ogs run shit.

but really its the ogs, bubbas, kushes, purps, chems, diesels, and everything else.

but the top 10 i put is really most of the generally agreed upon best varieties, the ones that are always top shelf out here. my personal favorites would be very different but would also be a lot of rarer lesser known strains.

Top Five:
Golden Lion
Lavy(urkel relative)
the Hawaiian(unknown clone we used to smoke tons of and is now gone forever...maybe)
Double Bubble(super clone that floated around back in the day, gone aswell it seems)
Crystal Mist

that is just a off top of head list, no seed suppliers offer these and I have none of these growing...sad...
There are many more I love but these were shortlived on the whole, and would gladly rock 4 outta the 5 right now! Would kick some girls out for some of these...lol

If you have a script to high times it's easy to see why they chose those strains. They all have full page or 2 or 3 full page spreads in the magazine. It's all about who you know, and how much money you wanna spend.

Subcool seems alright to me... ive hung out with him for a while at both med cups 2010/2011 . Smoked a couple with him, and he was telling me the history behind some of his strains. While i agree he crosses to much with the space queen... he has really great genes like his romulan cut he has been working with for like 15 years.

My guess for next year is-
Whatever "new" strains greenhouse, dinafem, dr greenthunb, CC, thseeds, subcool,or dna puts out... They win every year because they have the biggest ads in the magazine.

:bowYea ogs def run Cali right now but I think peeps r starting to swing off that train! I've been finding out that the hazes i grow sell alot quicker than my ogs now! Prob cuz nobody grows long flowering sativas anymore so they've become more and more in demand... And if anyone's lookin for a good haze to start with go no further than jj's Nigerian line!

Yeah, hightimes isn't the most discerning it seems and I notice everyone bags on Arjan, what about all these cups that Barneys is getting, Derry or whatever his name is, I've never seen any good herb from his seeds....doesn't mean it doesn't exist, just as a cannabis cup winner you usually see a few phenotypic representations on the market and I never see nor hear good about Barneys...Anyone have any killer Barney gear growing?

Personally, if the strains are "clone only", they should be in a separate category all together. If a stain is not readily available to the general public- then screw it. I want to know I can get it or I could care less.

Secondly, H.T. is total bullcrap. Grin had it right! It's all about advertising revenue with them and nothing else. Just like the Cannabis Cup- it's all about $$$$$$$$$. Not much else.

I disgree with the Barney's statement. You just got to pick the right ones. Some are wonderful and some are just plain bad.......... just did a few Pineapple Chunk's and people are loving it. I've done a few others too and they were nice.

Forgot to mention: Barney's Violator Kush is also a very nice item I did a few years back........
