Most all them picks suck, who picks this shit?
Straight up, I've grown space tooth and double purple doja and seen many subcool varieties and they are all subpar in my experience. If he had any motivation he would invest in getting a new male besides his Space Queen/Jill...Just my opinion but his varieties are average at best.

Hmmmmm, ........ HighTimes huh? Sweetbee would like to ask this question to Shanti, WallyDuck, Felix, Jorge, DJ, K,Kushman, and a whole bunch of Old School Vet growers. In my humble opinion between the northern tip of Vancouver Island and the Southern reaches of the Golden State lies some of the real hidden jewels of the cannabis world.
Open pollinated, freely shared seeds and genetics. There are Many unsung heros continuing in the propagation of this life confirming, sacred plant. My thanks to each of you for helping to make this a healthier planet- Sweetbee
If you have a script to high times it's easy to see why they chose those strains. They all have full page or 2 or 3 full page spreads in the magazine. It's all about who you know, and how much money you wanna spend.
Subcool seems alright to me... ive hung out with him for a while at both med cups 2010/2011 . Smoked a couple with him, and he was telling me the history behind some of his strains. While i agree he crosses to much with the space queen... he has really great genes like his romulan cut he has been working with for like 15 years.
My guess for next year is-
Whatever "new" strains greenhouse, dinafem, dr greenthunb, CC, thseeds, subcool,or dna puts out... They win every year because they have the biggest ads in the magazine.
Yeah, hightimes isn't the most discerning it seems and I notice everyone bags on Arjan, what about all these cups that Barneys is getting, Derry or whatever his name is, I've never seen any good herb from his seeds....doesn't mean it doesn't exist, just as a cannabis cup winner you usually see a few phenotypic representations on the market and I never see nor hear good about Barneys...Anyone have any killer Barney gear growing?
Personally, if the strains are "clone only", they should be in a separate category all together. If a stain is not readily available to the general public- then screw it. I want to know I can get it or I could care less.
Secondly, H.T. is total bullcrap. Grin had it right! It's all about advertising revenue with them and nothing else. Just like the Cannabis Cup- it's all about $$$$$$$$$. Not much else.
I disgree with the Barney's statement. You just got to pick the right ones. Some are wonderful and some are just plain bad.......... just did a few Pineapple Chunk's and people are loving it. I've done a few others too and they were nice.
