I like to spread the budlets apart on the stacking buds and check out the try combs inside there. A lot of times there are try combs you can’t even see that are still clear. You really have to get your nose in there to get an idea of what’s going on, and I agree it is something that comes with experience. And working with that whatever environment you’re stuck with. And if I can push them till the next full moon, I will! And they should stink! Don’t discount the importance of smell!

One thing I really dislike is over ripen Cannabis tho, 15% amber is the most I go, rarely.
Over ripen bud loose a lot more of the more volatile terpenes and flavonoids, and IME is counter productive for the complexity of the after taste and bud smells after cure.
