She is coming along great after the poor care as previously mentioned from the nursery I got her from. She has mostly been getting rain water and some applications of Bio-Balance Foliar to ensure acidic conditions while also benefiting the plant as a whole.. Super good stuff loving the results so far.. Works amazing to help ensure the plant stays in that perfect ph range while a lot more benefits..

I do not PH in my soil-less media applications outdoors. :) Hope this helps.. Box Doing great on my trees besides the random bugs trying to eat my plants.. LOL

Oh and you can see my cool new water hose I was testing out.. :D Hope you enjoy the photo's and my ways of training with pipe cleaners.. Please feel free to share and or comment :D

Any questions as always feel free to ask. :D

Cherry Tomato Large From Seed
Better Organix

She has survived numerous fall overs and through multiple storms.. :D Lots of flooding and harsh weather for all these outdoor plants.. There isn't currently a wind break where they are on the homestead.. :)

Still considering transplanting into a bigger container just need to order some containers and see how much recycled media I have.. :D

Hate to disappoint you but apple stock won't clone ,you have to graph a apple cutting to a better root..
Your tree you are growing is a graph on tree. Most seeds produce bitter/tart fruit, hence apple cider. They had to find something to use it for after Johnny Apple seed passed out all of these seeds .
If that makes sense I kind of hurried up to right this.

So Apple tree farmers grow hundreds of seeds to find one good fruit and then graph the shit out of her.all the others are bitter or tart ,not good for eating.
That's what I was told and watched about Johnny Apple seed.

It does.. :) I am always bad with wording at times and medicated so I may come off wrong at times, but I always appreciate any help.. Have you had any personal experience with grafting? I hope to be able to build up my stock of trees. :)

Thanks a lot buddy for your help as always and for swinging in.. :D

I haven't done any myself.
But I have tried to take the suckling and root it with no luck. But I know there's tons of different ways to propagate so one might work ,I don't know..
I wouldn't know where to look for root stock for graphing.

Yeah me neither.. Maybe buddy ole pal @Ecompost when he gets time will chime in to help if he knows the answer.. :D Got to make sure to keep that mind of his sharp.. LOL

We shall find out and if anyone else knows feel free to share.. Always open to test it and posting results.. :) Will be cool to see if I can get them to root well next season or ASAP.

Fedco Trees is where I go to gwet grafting supplies.

You first need to get root stock in the early spring (standard, dwarf, semi-dwarf) The roots will dictate how tall the tree grows as well as how long it lives and hardiness.
Then you need scion wood which is just a twig of the apple tree that you want to grow.
http://www.fedcoseeds.com/trees/?cat=Scionwood

You could also do bud grafting in the summer time, but the main time of year for grafting scion wood is before the buds come out in early spring.

Johnny Appleseed sold seeds to people going west in order to provide people hard cider for drinking at their homestead. For good reason, people were afraid of water back then and used hard cider to drink because they knew it was safe. Even the kids must have been sloshed on hot summer days, no wonder they called them lazy days. Point being though that apples were key to many families survival
