Well, I am going to use a reflective film over the top next run. I did not have problems because 1. the trees shade the top and 2. I run a UV sterilizer in my pump to kill alge. With all the light going on next run, im going to cover the tops and not run the sterilizer :)

Yup, will do.. It will start from room construction on. This thread will be updated with some chop shot of the Urkle perhaps, but otherwise, this thread is done as the grow is done. I will continue to answer questions reguarding this build. While obsolete, it was a great system :)

After a res change and tub clening today , I found the cluprit... Cloges airstones.. Something grew on them and totally blocked them.... Dunno how im going to fix this other than cleaning them weekly, but thats a dangerous propasition with plants this heavy..

Has your PH been steadily raising as well? I use to have that issue and I attributed it to light entering the res system somewhere. I would panda the top of the plants and the top of the buckets and that will help. It's that brown slimy stuff that grows on the airstone. Dip the stone in peroxide mix or whatever sterilizer you use and scrub your res, once that algae stuff gets in your system it comes back faster if you don't scrub it off of the container, the air hose, and the bubbler. It also seems to be more prevalent in higher water temps.

Well, it looks like you found the problem. yea, even a pinhole of light will cause that stuff to start growing. Here's 8 6" pots with a sprayer under it. this is the intermediary step between my cloner and my buckets. I end up cutting the pots up and transplanting them into 10" net pots. My buddy found the black lids one day and he grabbed all 14 of them. we haven't been able to find more of them since.

I'm not a big rockwool fan at all, so I go right into hydroton from a clone. the roots seem to adapt much faster going from aero/hydroton into DWC than going from a flood table/rockwool into DWC.
