What about using something like this...
http://www.amazon.com/1-75qt-Chambe...qid=1412954395&sr=8-6&keywords=vacuum+chamber

Could this be used to blast into over a heat source (presto as before) and let to purge for say an hour, then put the lid on and vacuum purge the rest without ever having to scrape to transfer??

Yes that would be just fine.. Personally i have a glass dish i use i set that on the presto and blast into that.. no hot water needed or even wanted for me.

Then i move that dish inside my stainless steel pot and put that on the griddle.. tho yer method would be alot faster :D

Interesting....Maybe find one that is a bit bigger. 1.75qt seems like it would be a tad small even for my small extractions. Everything I make is for personal use. I think I remember seeing a 1 gallonish version some where.

Just thought about something....if you had a pressure cooker could it be used as a vacuum chamber?? It has a pressure inlet/outlet on the lid and seals in the same manner as a vac chamber.

That one looks good.. as far as PC.. I wouldn't trust the gasket or valves to hold a proper seal...

Teflon huh? I would have thought for sure the solvent would remove the Teflon coating.

As long as you dont scrape with anything that'll scratch the surface its safe teflon IS SOLVENT SAFE thats why I use plastic scrapers
