And to think I put so much effort to get them that far...Spent all day planting the garden outside...I found out there are some risks to tilling in trimmings from a seed run! I was like....what are you doing here?
Looking wonderful my fellow Virginian! Hey, but what are those bugs?Off to a good start for the summer in Alexandria. Started these 4 Puna Buddaz in my tent in April.View attachment 2643472View attachment 2643471
Now 2 have moved out to the garden

My neighborhood has a lot of Ailanthus, Tree of Heaven. Terrible invasive trees that grow and spread almost as bad as bamboo and support various nasty pests. Now the Spotted Lantern Fly nymphs have infested the grape vine. They will suck all the juice out of it if they can. I've been squishing them by the hundreds but every morning there's more. Hope they are disinterested in cannabis.

Wow is all anyone can say!I’ve been looking for VA-specific info and noticed that they were scattered all over the site. Thought it might be easier to have one thread that gathers everything for Virginia.
The purpose of this thread is to unite Virginia growers so we can all share our experiences, tips, tricks, recipes, etc., and keep the Virginia marijuana community growing.
I’ll start it off.
Total newbie to growing (and even to gardening).
First grow. Growing two plants outdoors. Don't have an indoor setup.
Even though I've done something wrong at nearly every stage, my plants appear to be doing fairly well.
They're not ready to harvest yet, but guessing in the next 2-4 weeks?
But, the weather is quickly cooling off with lots of rain.
It's in the 50's today.
How much do I need to worry about possible negative effects caused by the weather?
I keep hearing about bud rot, etc.
What can I (should I) do to take these two plants across the finish line?
Hope there’s some interest in a VA thread.
Thanks!!

Outdoors, these are my main worries. I’m in some mountains and that helps but this is my first grow ever anywhere. I’m using neem oil but should look up Lost Coast. Y’all are fantastic Virginians for sure!Sorry to hear that. We do get the humidity in Va tho don't we.
I had spots on the buds last year. When I investigated there were little caterpillars so I did an emergency harvest and salvaged about 50% on that plant.
This year I've got Lost Coast Plant Therapy to try. It says it is very versatile and negates several insects and molds so I'm hoping I can defeat that kind of issue if it turns up this year.
I have a grower friend near Staunton and she has had wonderful grows year after year up there so I think your in a good place compared to me.Outdoors, these are my main worries. Good luck with that, lol. Smoking weed is not as addictive as growing it.Both of your grows look very good!!! Best of luck with them! I may take a break this summer, and refrain from an outdoor crop...but I could change my mind...undecided here.
Also never bring plants from outdoors to a indoor grow you will be inviting mites as they thrive indoors and are always on your plants outdoors just they have other predators and the weather outdoors prevents them from getting out of handDang! They were looking good! You won't let that happen again I bet. I almost lost my first grow to nutrient lockout. A fellow grower helped me out thankfully. No bud rot, PM, or mite issues for me YET. I only have 4 grows under my belt, so I'm still green myself, and am sure to encounter those wonderful surprises at some point (knock on wood).
A friend of mine told me that the plant will tell you everything it wants, and if you're doing something wrong....just learn how to listen.
I'm trying, but some days I think I need a hearing aid...lol.
