No I wished guess I'll hang it at basement door entrance dark and cool
I agree entirely with @MercDod and @F1cultivator on preferred drying methods for protecting the best attributes of your weed, but for some drying at 60f and 60rh is not logistically or financially possible so it bears saying that for the first 10,000 years of people using weed it was just hung out to dry and that was okay. As long as you can avoid having your weed get moldy your still going to be enjoying the hell out of it. As capitalism has taken hold of everything about cannabis there has developed a must have gadget for every part of the process. Not saying there's anything wrong with with owning an AI powered tent with light, heat, humidity and fan control, or an electric/plastic/metal device to germinate seeds or an electric/plastic/metal device to dry/cure weed. I guess what I'm saying is it's just as cool, and your going to get just as high growing with the tech of 100 years ago as it is to follow the wave behind the influencers. There's money being made out there on people's desires that's for sure. Ew, that was very ranty wasn't it? Sorry. Is my new light financing China's military buildup? I worry.

I've started using ARBER Bio insecticide it all natural for fungus gnats it working great I think it was would also help with the lantern flies but I've seen them everywhere just haven't messed with my weed plants so far but I did give them a treatment anyway.
I contacted my local government to see if there was a city or state program to eradicate spotted lantern flies and they said no. Their current advice is "Squish 'em if you see' em."
SLF's don't seem interested in cannabis but I'm looking very carefully at the tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and other garden staples. So far the only thing being ravaged is the grape vine and the basil. They seem love those. There are lots of holes in the leaves.

Ok

New poster here. Northern Shenandoah Valley, mostly outdoor grower with a couple of grows. 10,000 years ago no one could score a pack of zig-zags at your corner bodega/7-11. We are not growing the same weed our ancestors grew. It's not the same soil nor the same environment. We have architecture with infrastructure. If your space is limited for drying, maybe hop on down to your local big box store and see if they'll donate some cardboard boxes to your cause. While you're at it nab some kite twine. Make yourself a cardboard chimney by stacking open top/bottom boxes. Make a slit every 4-6 inches along the top of each box about an inch long. Tie your string across the open top of each box. Now you can hang your weed from that string inside each box. Stack the boxes with room for air to circulate.
Terpines evaporate easily at temps above 75. I hope that helps and I'm glad to meet some other Va growers. Who grows outside in the dirt?

We had SLFs in the yard and garden last year. They really liked the cover of my weed but I couldn't see any damage to the plants. That doesn't mean I didn't run my IPM against them. Neem oil didn't make them move, BT, no effect, they're not chewing insects. Spinosad, they ignored. I cut down the only ailanthus tree on the property and the neighbors have cut theirs down too. Still I have seen some nymphs in the yard. They don't seem to bother nonwoody plants.

Apparently they do and can affect your growth and yield im hoping the ARBER Bio insecticide works for them also as it's for a multitude of things they also have another line that help with mold I never had to use anything for my outdoor stuff but everything I grew has been ready mid September and always before October when rain and cooler temps set in

So I checked on the ARBER and it does work on the SLF but only as a spray.

Welcome @IgnorRayMuss. Been going to Black Water Falls, Lost River since I was a kid. Beautiful country.
Love growing outdoors. Got 2 off to a good start in the garden and 2 filling in the trellis in the tent. The issue that has gotten to my outdoor grows is the little tomato worms/caterpillars. Gets in the buds and they rot. Gets in the tomatoes and, yuck. Had those three years in a row. Any advice about how to tackle those? I tried Bt last year but they seemed unaffected.

Great thing about the paper bag instead of the jar is it breathes slowly drying it but what works for you is best the cardboard box is the same concept that a brilliant idea.Me and another grower split a grow he used expensive screen and was very technical.I put mine in a closet and then paper bags and drawers and mine was twice as good just because of how it was cured. So it does make a big difference

The ARBER Bio insecticide works on worms and caterpillars also .I just started using it this year it's safe to use on food and weed and is all natural you want to be careful spraying on your buds because it could cause bud rot but otherwise it's safe It's a biological control a bottle was around $28 kind of expensive but cheap compared to loosing your crop

Okay, they are crawling around my cannabis plants. There are some damaged leaves but I can't say for sure if it's them or something else. They're not particularly fast, you can squish them sometimes before they hop. They are good hoppers. I put a large sheet of white paper under the plant while I tried to squish them. That worked pretty well as I can see them and get them if they land on the paper. The second pic shows about 10 bugs hanging out on the stem and leaves. Yuck.

A few ladybugs 🐞 is all it takes to keep numbers under control or some neem or capt. Jacks will work to. Bugs are just a fact of life for the outdoor grower.

I tried neem oil. They were unfazed and asked for more please. I sprayed on plants and directly on SLFs with zero effect.

I used the ARBER Bio insecticide it's organic and biological and it works a little expensive but pays off in potent dividends I initially bought it for fungus gnats but it worked great for that but since I saw the SLF I used it on my outdoor stuff and so far working great.

You are so on point about companys selling BS stuff you don't need getting rich off of other people's dreams. Some times you have to make do with what you have and sometimes it's all you need and works better if you just understand the concept of how it should be dried a nice slow cure is basically what you want it's why the cardboard box works just don't let it get to hot if you can help it hang them at night when it's cooler .You should be ok .Life is a live and learn experience. Either way you will learn.
