I just wish they would keep troops trained and ready for this sort of thing. I can understand not wanting to send untrained people into harms way like that. I dont think i ever realized how fast fire can move and change directions. I trained to be a Forrest fire fighter when i was a teen and never got the chance to finish that up. This whole thing has made me rethink that and i plan on finishing that training if my health will allow it. Im glad no offense was taken Kolah its times like this we all need to pull together. I will admit im 50/50 with obama now days.. but i think i will never agree 100% with any president or politician. lol me and them just dont think the same.
I hope everyone recovers from this mess soon. Best of luck my friends.

They released the entire fleet of 8 C-130 air tankers for the fight at Waldo Canyon. They sent military firefighting teams in from as far away as California. I'd say they have commited what they have to the fight- and Colorado is far from the only state burning.

Guess it did load. I went to high school on the Air Force Academy. Pretty staggering video to say the least.

I heard that Barack O'Hitler flew in to observe the fire. Hopefully he's gone after dong his bullshit PR work. And hopefully took his nazi enforcers with him. I wonder if he muttered "You're doing helluva job, Brownie"
THE PRIVATE SECTOR IS DOING FINE!!!!

Just watched that time lapse Waldo Canyon fire video from start to finish; really gives a whole different perspective on events. Amazing.

There are a few different time lapsed videos of this fire out there. This one was the first I saw...

An evil and crazy vid...complete with spooky music.

Hopefully Waldo is burning itself out. I salute you, Barack. Heil! <raises hand>

I dunno, but I think that is a world record for Eastern European names for the President. Hitler was a facist, by the way, not a liberal - leftist, semi- socialist like Obama. I have never understood why people think he's like Hitler, unless they don't know very much about Hitler!

And let's be clear; Obama is a rather poor 'liberal', especially when compared to some real liberals from the 1970s. He is what the American Electorate asked for- and deserves; a middle of the road candidate, hamstrung by political division to the point where neither he nor the opposition can get much of anything passed. Our forefathers would have called that part at least a success, as they did NOT want it to be easy to make massive changes to the legal structure willy-nilly.

Comparing Obama to Hilter is way too much a compliment. Dude was an asshole but at least he had individual will, ambition and goals. Cold blooded murderous theives both of um one would just do it blatantly n feel justified todo so by some insane religious right of destiny.
Obama reminds me of that fuzzy Cesar character on that new scifi primate movie a lot more than Adolph. They gave him something to make him smart but he can't handle it I'd say.
He'd have to smile n look at his palms at night if he were to get lost in the burn scare zone so they could find him. No thanks. I voted for this freak as my only choice to what seemed to me was certainly a lot more war but I'll be happy to see another chump try.

There saying the fire was so hot homes with single pane windows would erupt in flames indoors due to the thermo heat...WOW
The firefighters actualy saw fires erupting inside dwellings and were able to save quite a few.
Fuck most cops. love them firefighters...

Glad to hear our boys in the hills got some help from the weather-

What no one storm can do is reverse the current dry conditions, but the weather looks like it's trying to set up the summer monsoon for Colorado and New Mexico.

Here's hoping we don't lose any more homes this year... I mean, over 600 is damned well plenty enough, right?!

Finally, don't think we're out of the woods with the burn scars anytime soon. They may not burn again, but the potential for flash flooding and mudslides just went right through the roof. Fires from years ago, near Bailey and of course the Hayman fire area, all had lots of mudslides and erosion issues for YEARS after the fires were put out.

Water quality will be the real issue for the future for many areas. (users will be drinking cloudy/soot-filled water more than likely).

Hopefully the monsoon will be a game-changer for the short term.

be safe, all
