Hello everyone im new to the forum, im having a very stressful issue i require majour assistance with.

I have 24 plants across 3 tents, unfortunately today finishing the week 3/4 defoliation i have noticed every plant has started growing pollen sacks. Its all mainly on the lower growth but some plants are forming balls about 3 nodes down from the top colas. I really need to save this crop im devastated. I will get some photos to show you as soon as i can. If i chop all the balls off and spray the plants do i have a decent chance of success or saving the entire crop or is it a lost cause? I dont understand how i have contamination in 3 seperate tents as usually one plant causes the cross polination. Could it be genetics? Im running barneys farm runtz layer cake strain. I hope you guys can help me!

Cheers josh

Stress or genetics

You’re doing the same thing with all 3 tents I guess. Notably defoliation that’s a whole lot more stressful than some admit.

Really you should only take of 10% at a time some take to much of & get away with it however ā€œ get away ā€œ with it is the word

It could be something else totally something to do with your environments/ the way you handle them etc ect ect

You can pull balls of however there will be some in the flowers you either miss or would have to rip the flower apart to find it.

You’ll get a crop with seeds no matter what
The part I don’t like is the taste of male pollen not so much the seeds themselves

The strain could be easy to herm suspect

The more pollen sacs open, the more seeds you get and the less bud you get. If sacs are already open, you'll have a seeded run. I'd spray with water first, then remove every sac. I'd inspect the plants every few days for new sacs, and remove those.

Currently non of the sacs have opened at all. Do you think there is a genuine chance of and decent crop left as the bud development is pretty strong considering its week 4 flower plants seem very strong.

Well good news is fem pollen doesn’t produce as many seeds as male pollen does

You should still get a harvestable crop
Thats good news, all the plans are fem. Im really hoping this goes well as iv had really bad issues all the way through. For some reason this strain heavily relies on sulpur took me weeks to diagnose the sulphur deficience about 3-5 weeks of veg all new growth was going yellow. Been the hardest strain iv ever grown. Such a needy crop

just pluck the balls and you'll get a harvest without seeds most of the time.

259 males preflowers

Recon its time to call it quits? Everything looks fertilized and its producing balls like crazy fast! Recon any reverse sprays could help or is it a lost cause?

You’ll have to make your own mind up
The only thing you can do is cull them or let them grow sprays won’t help here
Reversed plants can’t be smoked anyway

Yeah I see what you mean I dunno I would toss it some might not. There’s not much going on in the way of female flowers

Unlucky bud

Key question to ask is why is it happening. If it's just crappy genetics then it's just crappy genetics and nothing you can do but stop running that genetic. If they're herm prone, it's not desirable but you can manage it if you can manage the environment. Biggest issue that triggers herming is light. We get balls on our girls usually beneath the canopy because... light. Or a lack of adequate light to be more specific. We get them randomly throughout the plant because... light leaks. It causes issues with a plant's circadian rhythm.

Not always, but can help you nail down the cause because you're having a stressful run and we don't want for you to go through that stress in the future. So one strategy is keep the growth beneath the canopy cleaned up and don't let it grow buds down there, and another is to double check that when the lights are out, there's no outside light getting into the tent.

Iv come to the conclusion as hard as it is, im going to cull the entire crop. There is no chance im going to get any viable bud growth with the speed at which the seed pods are appearing everything has been fertilized. Iv never had this happen before and its really broken my heart and put a huge issue infront of me. However i must carry on. I will look for light leaks, bleach all the tents down to kill any pollen and start a fresh round. Im so sad with how much effort iv put in this run for it to end like this considering the plants look so good (photo below)

Don't get all crazy yet bro!! Take a close look at every plant. I would keep the plants that are growing pollen sacs. Your original 3 pictures show immature sacs, no pollen yet man.
Go ahead and kill those off, but take a really good look before you go bushwacker šŸ‘ŠšŸ¼

I had so many herms now, I handle it like this: If I see a sac here and there, I remove it with water (Edit: -and pray that no more show up). If there are many on one plant, remove the plant. If there are already open sacs somewhere... toss everything if you are in early weeks. If it is the end, make concentrates...

Yours definetely look to far and too pretty to toss... In the best case you still get 1 seed out of that tents crop. In the worst case you make some amazing hash...

Where did you get the seeds? Different or all the same strain? We all get a wonky plant now and then but not a bunch of them that's why you want to find out if you just had some bad seeds or if there's an environment issue.
