They are just like you want your daughters to be.. late bloomers.. I think they look good bro..

Let's hope so for me and Maxx. We need the luck for some good yields if not this grow, next grow!!! we're sick of low grade meds.. Good thing a kind hearted customer of ours hooked me up with some blue dream today. I ran out yesterday, such a godsend.

Yep...nothing like running into some decent meds when you need it! I've just been finding schwagg mexican until recently. Fortunately, I finally got hooked up with a connection that puts me into some good meds from an indoor grow. Whoever is growing it is doing a decent job, but like most commercial weed...it could use a better cure! The most recent find was some Sour Diesel....AHHhhhhhh! That's more like it! lol. I wish I had found this last year...but better late than never!

I think your plants are looking great, DD! Haha...only a short time ago, they didn't look nearly as good, and I wasn't sure they were even going to make it! Congrats on a good job, bro! You and I are flowering under floros, and I'm finding that things move slower. This is my first time flowering under them, so I haven't been sure what to expect. From what I'm experiencing tho, I feel like things are running a couple of weeks behind what I'd expect from HPS. No biggie...time is the one thing I've got plenty of! Mine are actually doing much better this week, but why talk about it, when I can show you...

:smug: UPDATE - FLOWERING - WEEK 6 :smug:

Well...as I was saying, things seem to be running a tad slower flowering under the floros. I was convinced I needed better light, so I went ahead and ordered the Inda-gro Induction light (with the Pontoon) last week. No sooner was Fed Ex tracking showing it on the way, when my buds started to take off! Haha! Looks like I may have jumped the gun on the light, but hey...it can only make things better in the long run. If I hadn't gotten the light, I would be miserable constantly thinking that if only I had it, things would be better... haha! Oh, the games we play with ourselves! I'm probably going to go ahead and finish these out with the UNO, just so I can get a really good comparison run on the two lights. I WILL say, that I'm VERY impressed with the UNO T-5! It simply blows all other T-5s I've seen out of the water! It's a great rig if you're considering going with a VHO T-5.

As you can see, I had allot of good bud growth this week. Saturday (8/2) is exactly 6 weeks from flip-day. They are also starting to frost up and smell great! So far, odor control has not been an issue. My fan/filter combo seems to be handling things just fine. My brother came for a visit this week and couldn't smell a thing, even tho he was trying! I thought that was a really good sign!

Right now, I'm thinking I'll probably go 8-9 weeks total on the Speedberry and Blueberry Gum, and more like 11-13 weeks total on the ACs. Maybe not tho...we'll see. The ACs are very sativa-dominant in it's characteristics, so I'm expecting it to be a slower finisher. I think BCBD says 10 weeks on these. We'll see soon!

I'm starting to see the differences in phenotypes in the Animal Cookies. From what I can tell, I got two distinct phenos. I'll describe them below with the pics. Without further ado...here's the bud porn!

Here's a couple of group shots of the tent...

Tent3

Pretty good difference for a week! Next are the different phenos of the Animal Cookies. The first pheno has the most beautiful pistils I've ever seen on a plant! (Well...maybe not as nice as pink pistils, but still...VERY pretty)! They are a brilliant white in color, and so thick and fuzzy, that they don't even look real. The plants with these buds are the stretchier ones and very fast growing! You can't tell from the pics, but the buds are very dense little nugs. I think by the time they fatten and swell, they should be nice! One thing about the AC's tho, is that there's little to no tric development at this point. It should be starting any time.

Animal Cookies - Pheno #1:

AC Bud1

AC Bud4

AC Bud3

Pheno #2 of the Animal Cookies is not quite as stretchy, and the buds are not quite as dense either. Still not loose or airy, but just lacks the density of pheno #1. The pistils are also smaller and not as brilliant white. They have more of a "yellow or green patina" to the pistils. However, I have noticed the lower buds getting whiter, so maybe they will catch up to the other pheno? Too early to say since I have no experience with this strain. This pheno looks as if it's going to be a heavier yielder than pheno #1 too. One thing for sure that's different in the two phenos is that pheno #2 is a nute-hungry little bi-atch! I can't seem to feed her enough P! I'm WAAY up there, and I'm afraid to push her much more. Here is AC - Pheno #2:

AC Bud2

Next up is the Blueberry Gum. It is really smelling great! It definitely has the pink bubblegum aroma when you brush against the flowers. I was hoping for more Blueberry in the cross, but it's early yet. It could still come out at the end. Either way is fine with me. I think it's going to be flavorful smoke! It's just now starting to frost up for me. Here's a couple of shots of the BBG:

BBG 1

BBG 2

I've saved the best for last! Check out MGG's Speedberry! It's getting so fucking frosty, and it smells SOOOO good! It has a strong berry smell right now. MGG tells me, this changes into more of a "hashy" taste (her genetics have Hashplant in there...so I'm not surprised)! I'm going to try to take her while some of the berry taste/smell is still there, but I DO want to see some amber trics before chopping, so let's hope she cooperates. (I feel sure she will...she's been a perfect little lady the whole run)! I thought I snapped a couple of pics of the whole plant, but I can't find them. I'll snap another couple tomorrow and post them up. Her structure is VERY nice, and it looks like she's going to give me a nice fat main cola. Check out the tric development on her. Most of this has just come up this week!

Thanks for dropping by, and as always...your comments/questions/constructive critisisms are always welcomed and encouraged. Stay tuned...we'll be setting up the Inda-gro before long. I may use it in veg on the gals I've got vegging now, and then just move them and the light to the flower tent at the same time. I figure this will keep them under the Induction light the entire run, and I'm very interested in checking out their claims that it's the only light you need for veg and flower. It would also be less stressful on the plants not to switch lights on them.

Oh yeah...almost forgot to mention that I've closely inspected the entire crop, and I can only find ONE seed that is developing. This would be from the make flowers the inter-sex Speedberry threw before I caught them. The one pod I've found with the developing seed is HUGE! lol. If only one flower got pollinated, I'm a lucky and happy guy! Shit, if there's just the oone bean...ya'll know I'm going to have to grow it out! Haha! Or...would it be more likely to produce herms too?

Thanks to all for your encouragement and comments! Drop back by soon!

Best,

Max :wacky:

Looks like all them bitches are right on schedule to me bro.. Them cookies do look like they might take a tad longer.. Very nice .. I'll bring some Coppertone and my shades!.. Hope that light is all it sez.. good luck.. That Speedberry looks awesome!

Those are lookin great bro. Youre gonna be in for some killer smoke soon! Those ACs look like theyre gonna fill out nicely, def the best ones Ive seen so far.
The SB's are lookin frosty bro. Def takin after that Hashberry in the resin production dept. Hopefully it will take after the Speed Queen in the harvest dept. Lookin killer man, Im excited for ya bro, not much longer now. MGG

Thanks DP!

Well, I'm proud that I've showed such restraint in not hanging the new Inda-gro. I thought it best to finish out this run with the UNO T-5's, for several reasons. First, it would be good to see how they finished out under the UNO. Also, I thought I might risk stressing them if I changed lights on them at this point. It was a smart, mature, rational decision that is indicative of a seasoned grower that is not subject to letting emotion and excitement over a new toy overtake good judgement and patience!

Then I said fuck all that and just hung the bitch! :finger: Sorry...I just couldn't stand it any longer. I'm really surprised I held out as long as I did. Oh well! In any event, it will be very interesting to see if I notice major improvements over the T-5s. (For the bucks I laid out, I damn well better)! At any rate, she's up and we'll be tracking the progress as always! Two observations right off the bat... 1. The Inda-gro is actually running COOLER than the UNO VHO T-5! I would have NEVER thought that! and... 2. The penetration is EASILY double that of the T-5 too! The plants seem well lit under the canopy. Much more so than before! MORE TO COME... stop by often!

Best,

Max :wacky:

BTW, sorry for the crappy pic! I took it on my phone cam and was just too lazy to go take and upload another at this hour. You'll be seeing more of it soon! Haha. Thanks for dropping in!

Thanks bro, and I want to publicly thank you for gifting me the SB beans (as well as allot of other nice gear) and for all you've done helping me get started back up! It's amazing how much you lose if you lay off for a while. I feel like it's starting to come back, but sheesh...growing is definitely a perishable skillset! If ya don't use it...you WILL lose it! If I'm ever again forced to take another break, I'll sure do a better job of keeping my knowledge and skills sharp till I'm back in the dirt. But at any rate, you've done so much to help me both in gear and advice...and just listening to me rant! lol. Thanks bro for being a true friend!

Best,

Max :wacky:

Now if you had another grow light to go grab instead of your camera!.. lol.... I'll be watching this light.. thanks for sharing bro..

Ha-ha! Cool, DP. Are you thinking of one of these for your room at some point if all the claims pan out? You're running a 400 now aren't you? Same power draw. Well, actually with the Pontoon, I think the Inda-gro is pulling 460 watts. Still very close tho.

Yes a 400 hps for flower and a 250 mh for veg, with a t-5 flouro used for side lighting when I have no seedlings going.. Just like to see if the heat issues are cooler.. and your results and opinions of course.. Whats a few more bucks for the elec. co.. Thanks DP

Wow max looking great over there , what kind of induction lighting did you get. Post up a pic of that sweet piece of machinery lol. I would of had so much more growth if I haven't cut off every leaf lol. I see you have a lot. Do you trim your girls at all? I just recently installed a grow bulb on the floor of my grow room to shine up. Seemed that my pretty lady loves it . have you ever experimented with lower lighting?

Dude...I'm gonna have to come over there and tie your hands and feet until your plants are ready!!! o_O No man, I don't cut leaves. Your fan leaves are the engines that drive photosynthesis. If you were going to run a race, would you unhook several of your sparkplugs? I let the plant drop a leaf when it's done with it. Once a leaf is 90% done, I'll usually go ahead and take it. At that point it's not offering the plant anything beneficial. But as long as it's attached, it's photosynthesizing and storing energy the plant can draw from it. So yeah...I leave 'em on.

I do prune for yield a bit by "lollipopping". I simply get rid of the foilage on the lower 1/4 of the plant. This forces the bud growth to the top of the plant where it will get sufficient light. The buds at the bottom usually don't get enough light to fully develop, and this just let's the plant put that energy into a more productive area.

Be careful with that lower light! You don't want to have it pointing up from underneath shining on the bottom of the leaf. The photo-receptors are only located on top of the leaves. Prolonged intense light on the undersides of the leaves can actually damage them! Lighting the lower growth is a GREAT thing to do, but be sure the light is directed inward into the canopy, and not up at it from underneath!

Oh...and the light is the Inda-gro Pro 420 PAR w/pontoon. It's a nice rig! I'll get some pics up for you tomorrow. It's too late tonight and I'm just too tired. The jury is still out on whether it's gonna make the cut here in the pad! I've got 30 days to return it if I decide not to keep it. So far...everything is looking real good with it. The plants absolutely seem to love it. This isn't an ideal (or even a fair test) for the Inda-gro, and I know that. I really should have been using it from the start of flowering to really know what it can do. I'll just have to use it a while and then go with my gut feeling on it. If it DOESN'T make the cut...Plasma is next!!!

What I'm shooting for is the absolute most productive light in existence in terms of yield and quality (resin production, potency, etc) for my little 3'x4' tent space. Price is no object (within reason). Does anybody have any suggestions for the ultimate light rig for my tent? Keep in mind my stealth needs! The light can't be too hot or draw too much power. So far, we've tried VHO T-5, and Induction. I'm thinking plasma might rock it tho!

Thanks for dropping in!

Bored, middle of the week UPDATE -DAY 47

Well, this is kind of a mid week update. DieselDuds asked me to take/post some pics of the Inda-gro light, so I thought since I was doing all that, I'd throw a quick update out for ya too! By the way, DD...I hope you didn't take my post last night as being condescending. I re-read it and if it came across like that, I'm sorry. That was not my intent. I was baked and trying to be playful/funny. (That rarely works out for me)! Haha!

The Inda-gro has been up since Friday night, and I believe it's beginning to make a real difference. The plant's response to it has been great. Just a short time after hanging it...they were all "praying" hard! I also think that the Inda-gro has stepped up the resin production as well. The light does not seem as intense as you'd think it would be, but I know that allot of what induction lighting does that's so beneficial to the plants, happens outside the range of human vision. I just have to get out of my old "HPS" way of thinking...that brighter is better. As a general rule, I think that's true, but the longer I grow...the more I am convinced that spectrum is king! I really believe the biggest improvements to come will be in the spectrums of the lights being offered to growers. Both the UNO I was running, and the Inda-gro have balanced spectrums, much closer to sunlight than HPS. I could really tell the difference in how the plants respond to the lights. With the UNO and Inda-gro...the plants just seemed happier, and I think their structure was improved...stems stronger...oils and aroma maximized. I attribute all this to the spectrum. Anyway...sorry to run on so.

Here's a few shots from different angles of the Inda-gro...

The resin production has stepped up this week under the Inda-gro. How much of that is just the natural progression and how much is the light...I really couldn't say, but my feeling is that the Inda-gro has kicked things up a notch.

Today is Day 47 of flowering since I flipped them. I've started the Sppedberry and Blueberry Gum on straight water...no additives, nothing! I don;t pH the water for my final flush. There is a school of thought that says the chemicals in the pH adjusting solutions will add to the taste....but not in a good way. And since the plant is near the end of it's life...we don't care if the pH is off or not now. It'll never live long enough to see problems from it.

Thanks for dropping back by! If you have any questions/comments about the Inda-gro (or anything)...let 'em rip!

Best,

Max :wacky:

Thanks! I really can't take allot of credit! I'm just pouring water on dirt and trying to stay out of their way!Haha! Yes, Actually I did start some seeds a while back. I'm not sure how that pic got attached like that. I must have done that by accident. Here's a pic of the babies. Growing right now, we have...

(1) Grape God (Gifted by Don Peppy)
(2) Orange x Pineapple (ROC)
(1) Grape Romulan (ROC)
(1) Blueberry Gum Clone (original gifted by Mr. GreenGenes)

I'm very thrilled, honored and excited to be able to grow out the ROC gear. ROC is a "private" breeder, although some of his work is available for sale. I'll be starting a separate journal on these once they get a little bigger, but for now...here's a peek at what the future holds. They were started in "straight out of the bag" Happy Frog soil in Solo cups. I transplanted a couple of days ago into the one-gallon "Rootmaker" pots filled with FF Ocean Forrest soil, amended with about 25% additional chunky perlite and a pinch of dolomite lime to sweeten the soil a tad. 2-3 weeks before flipping, I'm planning to up-pot again to the 3-gallon Rootmaker pots. I also picked up a couple of 5 gal Smart pots, so I may give one of these a try this round too. Again...I'll start a separate journal on these strains and the Induction light soon. Thanks again for dropping in!

Best,

Max :wacky:

Well...tomorrow marks the WEEK 7 mark! Damn...it's hard to believe it's already been 7 weeks since I flipped these girls! I swear the older I get...the faster it goes!

I snagged a tester nug off one of the Speedberry gals a few days ago, and put it in the dark to dry. It's dry enough to give it the test, so I thought ya'll might want to join me for the first home-produced meds this ol' boy has seen in about 4 years! (Thanks so much to everybody who's helped me make this a reality in my life again)!

So...a few days ago I bought one of those little USB microscopes. It's cool as hell! I've been getting stoned and looking at a lot of the stuff just sitting around the room. I swear there's a whole other universe going on right in front of us we never know about! This is one cool little gadget! I picked this one up off Amazon for under $40. I'll never look at my trics through a handheld scope again! It has a button on the side of the scope you push and it will capture a photo for you! This was the best $40 I've spent in a long time! I've already had $100 worth of fun! haha! As you can see from the pic, the trics are mostly cloudy with a few just beginning to turn amber. Some (actually, quite a few) are still clear.

Trics

Well...let's see what she smokes like...

Before

AND...A FEW MOMENTS LATER...

After

Not too shabby!

TASTE: OK...considering she hasn't been flushed yet, the taste isn't bad even now. A bit on the spicy-peppery side with fruity undertones. I think with a proper flush/dry/cure...it will be very flavorful herb! I expect the fruitiness would be brought out nicely with a good cure. It's a touch on the harsh side, but not be be unexpected with no flush and a quick dry.

STONE: Yep! Haha...it already packs a punch. I think that punch could be turned into a real wallop with a little more amber, so I'm going to let her cook a little longer. Right now the high is still a little too head buzzy, which is very typical for immature MJ. The stone seems like it's gonna last a while though, and is actually deepening as I write this. I smoked it about 5-7 mins ago, and the stone is still coming on.

CONCLUSION: I'm glad I took the tester at this stage. Now I know about when I want to chop her for the high I like (I think). At least I've got a plan now...haha! And one of my favorite quotes (From Gen. George Patton) goes..."A good plan today, is better than a great plan tomorrow"! That has served me well for many years! So my conclusion could be summed up as...Damn, I'm ready for this bitch to finish now!

ALSO...In the "For What It's Worth" dept. this evening...

I got to wondering about the Inda-gro pontoon. The pontoon is supposed to provide light in the "Deep Red" spectrum at 660nm. I wanted to see how much actual red light was being produced by the led diodes, so I left the pontoon on, but unplugged the main light to find out. Here's what I saw...

Red

Yep...I'd say that's putting out a little red light! Haha! I can see the buds swelling nicely! I think the Inda-gro is going to wind up being a pretty good move! At this point I'm strongly leaning toward keeping it! I'll really never know just what it is capable of until I give it a full start-to-finish run anyway, so I feel pretty sure it'll be around awhile.

Well...I need to go finish the rest of that nug! Later folks! Thanks for helping me share the first nug from the Maxy Pad!

PEACE!!!

Very nice bro.. Nice white ash too for no flush.. After that tester nug, your eyes were probably as red as those lights.. Glad your seeing positive results.. The end and another begining are coming soon!.. DP
