@GNick55, I am talking about what you do afterwards? I have loads of dabs on parchment paper I keep in the fridge. I also make a lot of rosin carts but I am wondering what your preferred method of dealing with gooey rosin? Winterize?i love rosin. each strain is different , it all depends on strain/moisture/temp. I made rosin since 2015 seen it on yt started with hair straightner , went to grinded up big square nose plyers. some return gooey had some brittle etc.
sometime I pressed really low temp and then put it in a mini oven to like 50c and leave it for like 1h or more but always kept an eye on jt and it would change to a dry soft crumble that looked and felt like full melt gold hash.
i’m pretty sure if your end product is gooey than it’s more thc, if it’s kinda brittle than it’s more thca?im not gnick lol but why would you winterize solventless? idk but If u keep it in the fridge seal it in a jar or somthing cause it can add moisture and make it gooey and sometimes even some get a wierd fridge smell.
sometimes rosin is gooey because of the moisture in it sometime high temp i get shatter looking rosin and super low temp it can get gooey or vice versa depends on many things like i said strain / temp / moisture/
I press all my rosin for dabs ^ this is so true more art sometimes than science. But no need to winterize or even store in fridge I store at room temp around 72 in silicone or glass jars no problems - if not sealed it will dry out and turn more crumble and lesss liquified. It’s all in the consistency your after - still no need to refrigerateim not gnick lol but why would you winterize solventless? idk but If u keep it in the fridge seal it in a jar or somthing cause it can add moisture and make it gooey and sometimes even some get a wierd fridge smell.

Wait what? Leaving out at room temp will turn to shatter or crumble? For how long? Fridge makes it reasonable to work with. Room temp is so damn sticky.I press all my rosin for dabs ^ this is so true more art sometimes than science. Fck I dk? Still some impurities to remove. I just want that consistency one step above batter? Sprinkle on jointsim not gnick lol but why would you winterize solventless? idk but If u keep it in the fridge seal it in a jar or somthing cause it can add moisture and make it gooey and sometimes even some get a wierd fridge smell.

Never heard this before, but it checks out with my experiences having made a shit load of both THCa and Δ-9-THC. With the exception that THCa is more like play dough or soft hash until its been heated and melted into its oil state where it turns to a shatter like glass texture. Decarb it and it goes gooey.i’m pretty sure if your end product is gooey than it’s more thc, if it’s kinda brittle than it’s more thca?
if i remember correctly.,
No taste difference on the trim & can I ask what other benefits are therewell currently have 2 plants going as i’m waiting for early january to start the next serious grow,( the seeds) and these were just something to add in quickly with other plants being switched into flower but those plants suffered badly from white powdery mildew and being time to switch it just wasn’t worth it, so they were chopped done and disposed off, but than i notice the slow growth and other signs of stress in these two clones and within a couple days the wpm showed itself, so i was going to throw them out too, but i thought i try to save them, so i clean everything in the rooms with h2o2 and isopropyl.
than i sprayed them with milk and it has saved them in time for flowering.
milk has been proven to be helpful to plants, countries with lots of intense sunlight use it to save all sorts of crops where as milk for cannabis can used early on a day which will be hot and sunny or say a 1000 watt metal halide..
i’ve used it before on plants but wasn’t fully confident to advise others to do, as i’ve never had it indoors. but now i’m a believer of spraying the plants during veg just for the benefits to the plants it gives them..
Regarding moisture, I always use dry bud at least month old so I’m sure it’s like 18-20 % I dk? Temps, I haven’t really played with on my dabpress. I’m just rolling at 230-235 because it’s near default. Didn’t seem intuitive to me but are you suggesting I press at like 150 and it will be less gooey? Or it’s so variable dependent that I gotta play with each strain. I think I’m looking to make hash but it seems so difficult compared to a simple press. Gonna look thru thread thoroughly and determine my plan of action.im not gnick lol but why would you winterize solventless? idk but If u keep it in the fridge seal it in a jar or somthing cause it can add moisture and make it gooey and sometimes even some get a wierd fridge smell.

not sure what your asking about? No taste difference on the trim & can I ask what other benefits are there
i have a hash making thread.. dry sifting..Regarding moisture, I always use dry bud at least month old so I’m sure it’s like 18-20 % I dk? Temps, I haven’t really played with on my dabpress. yes it is easy!Making bubblehash is very easy.
Even me as a old disabled person can make lovey hash
I remember making hash using the old bucket shake method with 3 gallon pails of ice water back in the 90's, before bubble bags became popular. Shake it up really good with a few oz of bud and ice water then let it settle in the fridge for a while, strain off the plant matter, repeat a couple times and then after a good long settle, we'd pour off most of the water on top, then pour the settled trich sludge at the bottom through coffee filters to collect the hash. Crude, but it worked.yes it is easy!
with any method, just buy the proper equipment from the start..
geez we had to learn without any help, as no internet was around than, ya we had some screw ups.,
but with all the help here on the farm and the internet, should make it much easier to be successful.,
Yup, I remember the days of trial & error without internet, lol. I remember about 25 yrs ago learning how to make hash oil from my friends father with pvc pipe, caps,& butane lighter fluid. They called it “honey oil”!I remember making hash using the old bucket shake method with 3 gallon pails of ice water back in the 90's, before bubble bags became popular. Nowadays with trim bins and bubble bags and dry screens and washing machines.. there are so many ways to make your own hash easily. I really would love to get my hands on a good dedicated hash making variety, my biggest reason for buying hash rather than making it, is modern Indoor strains just make hash that is ok, but doesn't have the same aroma or smoking quality as a good import does, or at least hash made from imported, dedicated hash making strains. At least that's been my experience with hashmaking.
Ur right super sticky I guess it’s just the method I preferWait what? Leaving out at room temp will turn to shatter or crumble? For how long? Fridge makes it reasonable to work with. Room temp is so damn sticky.
