i’m only saying that because the last few times i’ve done it and last time, the branches that i broke i let sit for 2 days in water and those clones were growing new leaves in just a couple days after planting as i go from cup of water to the medium they will be growing in (after preparing the clone and using rooting powder)Do you add any peroxide to the water the cuts sit in?
When I came here 4 odd years ago I was getting 5-6 cuts out of 10 growing by just sticking them in the dirt and keeping the soil damp......I learned a few new methods and I got down to about 2 out of 10 growing, I built a bubbler and I got 6 out of 10....MY last batch I got 9 out of 9 by sticking them in the dirt dipped in clonex.......
I' try to do it quick by dropping them in water asap after cutting and keeping them there until I clean up the bottom and dip in Clonex........I was led to believe doing it quickly was to prevent air in the stalk and doing the cleaning up under water was ideal......
.I like your idea of letting it sit for a while so any hydraulic movement in the stalk would suck water not air....like a break line not wanting an air bubble
Ya it makes sense to me that if in a working hydraulic system with it drawing fluid up a stalk after being cut the hydraulic's are still working and I can see it sucking air in.......i’m only saying that because the last few times i’ve done it and last time, the branches that i broke i let sit for 2 days in water and those clones were growing new leaves in just a couple days after planting as i go from cup of water to the medium they will be growing in (after preparing the clone and using rooting powder)
no peroxide… just my tap water..
I learned that by tossing cuttings in the birdbath. Planted them in solo cups a couple days later and voila!i’m only saying that because the last few times i’ve done it and last time, the branches that i broke i let sit for 2 days in water and those clones were growing new leaves in just a couple days after planting as i go from cup of water to the medium they will be growing in (after preparing the clone and using rooting powder)

i should mention that i get no yellowing in the leaves also, though my medium is promix hp with gaia green already amended in..I learned that by tossing cuttings in the birdbath. Planted them in solo cups a couple days later and voila!
