My opinion is the soil gets more exposure to air so a bit better gas exchange. Air pruning roots basically signals the root to grow in a different direction. The pruning itself doesn't do anything beneficial IMO.
The airpot had a larger yield?I'm all about equal opportunity. But prefer air pots.
Organic soil auto grower.
What you yielding off those babies ? Got link to ur grow?I'm all about equal opportunity. But prefer air pots.

That's exactly what I keep hearing I'm with you on this one AndyBoi ...The airpot had a larger yield?
what is the reason for your preference?
I think you misunderstood my comment. Im not trying to promote either of these options. Im just curious about the results of @quirk ’s experiment. That's exactly what I keep hearing I'm with you on this one AndyBoi ...
Ok I got u I like them cause they also us less medium so for a 5 gallon bucket only uses 4.5 gallons.. but so far this is my first time using them myself...I think you misunderstood my comment. to my untrained eye they look relatively equal sized plants. And the air pot is slightly larger.

There's obviously a huge differencedifference in the yield...@AndyBoi, these were Auto Blue Berry Domina, sprouted same day, same mix, same organic fert/nutes, same LST, each under the same individual light.
Only difference - Pot design. Air pot developed faster and fuller and yield was 183g fabric, 226 g air pot.
Thank you for this post on my thread it really helps and it should answer anybody's questions.... That's awesome thank you I'm going to follow you man is that okay quirk.. I only grow autos myself and your plants look great would love to keep up with your grows and maybe pick up some tips...There's obviously a huge differencedifference in the yield...

those are 2 seed plants. Cant tell difference in anything unless they were the same clone.
the only thing you are proving is that you only want to hear air pots are better for yield.
if they were they would be used in the food industry and be common. Instead almost no one uses them and you only see them being argued about on a weed forum.
if you like them than that is all that matters but dont pretend one post on the internet is proof of anything.
I just switched to fabric pots for this next round. My hope is that the fabric pot can be easily washed out and reused so I don’t have to wash my pots by hand which is messy and time consuming when the weathers cold and I can’t do it outdoors. I was a little disappointed in that I need more soil (3 vs 2 gallons) but figured they are cheap to try out and if it doesn’t work as expected I can always switch back. Going in with no reservations and will just observe the differences and report results when this round is done. It’s just starting so we got another 10 weeks before I can report my findings.
I am expecting better more robust roots, because that’s what everyone and the manufacturers say they provide. But we’ll see. I yielded 28 oz the last go round under my commercial quantum 4x4 fixture in a 5x5 tent so we’ll see what this next round produces. If I don’t get at least 28 on this next round then I’m goin back to regular nursery pots cuz a 50% increase in soil volume imo should yield at least 50% more product. Soil is cheap but it’s not free and for production every penny counts.
Wow, that’s awesome! Thank you for cunducting and sharing this experiment.@AndyBoi, these were Auto Blue Berry Domina, sprouted same day, same mix, same organic fert/nutes, same LST, each under the same individual light.
