I've given cuts to people who never said thank you. I used to give with the condition that they pay it forward and give it out only to see them post a thread announcing that they have these cuts to trade. Before they even grew them and mastered them they were greedy for more.

I've never given a cut with the expectation of getting something back. To me that's not giving.
Me and Tabor have had this conversation. He grew Skunk no.1 for years and was happy. Far from greedy that guy.

Me, I'm jaded from all the online folks claiming to be something they are not in order to con you into giving them a cut.

I can agree in part but I choose to offer as I see fit if a souls good I give all I can if you prove to be bad you never get anything else from me no one is obligated to share ladys and gents but I can say there have been some good people and yes tobor and ,winta and motherlode are some of the best folks jaws and steve z shady skunkmasterflex 420King masses and headgrow I could go on but what's the point if you wanna share do so if no respect is given by them never again help them either way yes we are a community of like people we smoke and grow simple to me

Thats kind of how i see it. I like to buy seeds and grow out my prefered pheno. Then i try to cross it with another one of my select phenos to get something more special. I just now created some select white widow x white berry, and some white berry x afgoo. Pretty soon i want to get my select chiesel pheno in the mix!

Elite Cuts?

I live in BFE, any good weed I smoke is mine. Been growing weed since 1978 and I've been given 1 plant in all those years(came with spider mites). First time for mites took 3 months to get rid of them, don't want those again. That said I would pay quite a bit for an Elite clone(minus the mites). Figure 100 bucks for a pack of seeds, most breeders it'll take several packs to get a keeper. Back in the mid 90's I drove up into canada to buy some seeds, crossing the border was interesting. With the price of seeds there 600.00 got me 3 packs of seeds. Its all about location and connections, if you don't have either, thc farmer is an awesome thing

To save the trouble of buying a few/several packs of seeds, growing out and flowering them, I'd spent a shit ton of money for an elite clone - depending, anywhere from one to a few thousand - when you figure in the seeds (close to $1K), time, money, and space it would take to find "the" pheno, it's a fair price, IMO.

I think that the people saying they wouldn't pay a dime for a clone would have a different perspective if they were totally isolated from the growing world in any way (save for the Internet).

As for all the "hoarding" accusations and shit like that - somebody popped 10 packs of seeds, took the time to flower all those phenos out to find the keeper - they can charge whatever the hell they wanna charge (IMO).

It's like somebody telling me that I spend the money to take a girl out to dinner, wine and dine her, put that time, money, and effort in, then I'm a greedy fuck because I don't want anyone else to fuck her that night.

I've had plenty of free beans and cuts given to me. Karma is on my side a lot lol. I have met some cool people on the Farm and I feel they are some trustworthy ppl. I usually trust unless you give me a reason not to. That said I don't pick up new friends easily :passingjoint: As far as an elite cut goes? I would rather buy beans, but will run a clone from a trusted source. I have some ppl on my mind that I would love to trade or help out in one way or another to aquire some great meds. I think that good people will get what they deserve, and karmas can be a bitch. I have never heard of clones going for more then $10-$15. But that is Cali for ya.

I've been lucky I guess. Until recently, I've never asked for a cut. That was only because I lost my mother and asked several people I gifted it to for it back.

It's always been my thought that it is tasteless to ask for a cut. If someone wants to give you something , they'll let you know.

The names of elites are becoming meaningless as people are making crosses to elite clones and giving them the same name.
You now find hybrids called the same name as one of their parents. Even more, people are selling cuts made from these seeds as originals at dispensaries.

My best cut has not been hyped. It was found the old fashioned way. Someone grew out hundreds of seeds and found a great mother. She yields high, tastes great, yields great and is powerful. Pre 2k Blueberry. I never asked for it.

Someone named Steel Canaries tried to sell me cuts at ICfag. I told him to fuck off.

I would never pay for a cut, nor would I charge.

I've had one asshole berate me because I would not send him cuts to Denmark. He tried to get me to understand why I am obligated to send him cuts and why he is entitled to them.

Sadly, at this site, I run into more of that than the spirit of sharing and earning the priviledge.

It kinda make me wonder when I read what you said. Partly because it is true. But also because not all is bad. There is community here. I have met some really cool people. If I got what you lost, consider it yours. I offered you did not have to ask.

Then I also realized a different perspective to this thread. Not of the clone buyer but the clone seller.

I think you intention of this thread was good in saying hey you can get an elite clone for $60.00 not bad. Actually a excellent deal if you do the math.

But that is the person point of view that is trying to help the community.

Then there is the other point of view. The person selling the elite cuts for $$.

So think about it from the another perspective (like the dealer of the clones) Saw this thread and though hey! I see a way here to make some cash off members of thc farmer and some other spots.

I did not see it at first. Not my job, but it did make me wonder...

Does anyone else see how this thread set the stage?

Fully agreed, even though we may not know what each other looks like, I do believe our common interest(s) bring us together as a community.

As far as "is it fair" to make money off of something that you have and other people want...............well, yeah :)

I do see how this was a perfect alignment of the stars to open doors of opportunity. If a Farmer is in BFE then yeah what an easier venue to score some great cuts, but I hear ya. I don't agree with taking advantage of anyone. I didn't see the deleted posts so I don't think that I can make a fair assessment as to the intentions of someone on here. I can see how this could set the stage though yes. Same time if someone needs/wants a certain strain or maybe they are a collector of fine genetics, then I can see buying said cut. I do concur that I would rather gift a cut to a deserving member, or trade. For instance like it was said, if someone got raided or some horrible shite I would send off cuts to help someone out like I have seen plenty of members doing so. This is a community of like minds. It just sucks when that goal is greed and money driven ideals. I love this plant and to see the drama on a day to day basis is interesting to say the least. Just remember that it's all about the plants/genetics not the money. F$%k money.:passingjoint:

In a non medical state obviously that changes. I don't feel right charging that kinda $$ for cuts. AM I pissed I have paid it top $$ before yes.

I have been taken advantage of and do not like to hear/see it happening to others.

Being taken advantage of all depends on your point of view! Good point.
