So I see many many people dropping in and saying "1st time grower need help" and "I am using this, that, and the third," right? First off glad you popped in and welcome to the community and I hope I can help you in some way, but this got me thinking....
How many people, and this applies to every type of grower, be it soil, coco, or hydro, but soil growers in particular, took the time to actually grow a plant in the soil that they are using adding nothing to it but just water? Don't get it twisted, nutrients are a GOOD thing, mkay. My point being, you are adding products to your soil before you even know if it is what the plant does or does not need. We see all these descriptions of what people do, my water is ph'd to this and I use such and such fertilizer line, and I follow this or that schedule, and those things have a place and a time no doubt, but what's your why? I mean, you are a 1st time grower and I wonder have you asked yourself, why do I do this or that? Is it because it's what so and so told me I need. This is what so and so told me to do.
Why not just grow a plant from seed, in just your soil adding only water, to actually see when and what the plant needs? Take any store bought soil as an example, ocean forest, happy frog, roots organic, a test if you will, and try it with your freshly acquired fem seeds. Just one, before you grow the rest, to see this is what my plant does, this is when my plant does it, if I just add water to the soil. I'm not throwing shade at anyone, belittling, or even being arrogant or condescending. What I am asking though, and what you should be asking yourself, what I had to ask myself, what is my base line for using what I am using, the when and why I am using what I am using or doing what I am doing. Without that, the WEALTH of information on this site is just throwing darts, if you have no base line to start from.
You may being saying, I don't have time for that, gimme the grow hack, the secret formula Mr. Wizard. I got news, there is none in growing, there is only observation and trial and error. Do you have a base line though, a starting point, a place of nothing added but water, so the plant can tell you what it needs and when? You might be surprised.
I don't know, maybe just stoner rambling, and I got nothing but respect for anyone and everyone asking questions and making comments, maybe its the "give a man a fish he eats for a day, teach a man to fish he eats a life time" thing.
