Which Macro lens for checking amber ??

Do any of you guys use a dslr camera with a macro lens to hook up to a flat screen and check for amber trichs?? I have a canon t2i and can almost get away with my telephoto lens to zoom in on those heads. Whats a good macro lens that wont cost more than my camera??

I just use my 10x jeweler's loupe. For macros, when we had the Canon that I could take the lens off of, I would just use the 'regular' lens and flip it around.

we just got the rebel sl1 and the stock lens works better for me then the bigger 250mm lens for macros.with the stock lens I can get the cam right on top of the bud like 2 inches away.lighting helps to see the trich colors for me,i use a blue & red clf on a splitter about 18" above the bud.i can see them pretty damn good this way but my 15.00 radio shack scope still works better lol.

Thanks guys. Ive been looking at them online and some macro lens are so fucking expensive. I paid 500 for the camera and two lenses. I might just go back to the bud magnifier lol
