Why I trim dry now. Don't believe the hype

Read the entire thread, a bit confused now.
Are there any tenets about drying and curing that are universally accepted?
I'm harvesting my first outdoor grow and I don't want to fuck it up too bad now that i'm in the home stretch.

try to dry very slowly, around 10 days. ( depends on temp and humidity )

Thanks. They are hanging in my garage. Can't control temp or humidity, don't even know what they are. But it will take about 10 days before the branches crack instead of bend, so I guess that's a good thing.
