Stretch started at the height of the trellis, it's less than 2 weeks into flower. Very happy with these 2, the papaya is invading the cali blues space it's a bush

Some science experiments with the clones this time. Put some in root riot cubes (8) and the rest (6) in my DIY aeroponics cloner.

New stuff to test:

1) Never used the cubes before. They seem easy as hell to use. Little cleanup/prep needed.

2) Also, gave all of them a dip in some clonex rooting gel. It is crazy sticky and super viscus. Reminds me of polyethylene oxide when i try to pour a bit out into a spoon for dips.

3) I usually run my cloner bucket with tap water. This time I added about 10ml of clonex liquid to the bucket.

Next time: might try some of that clonex spray, but dont know.

Looking to get healthy roots quicker. Plain water works well (100% root so far) but it takes me 12 days before i have the roots i want before putting them in soil.

Seems the Clonex root gel does speed things up.. but I didn't exactly follow the scientific method, and there was no control. Today is 6 days since cut (took 12 days for this level of root production previously.)

Really tight node spacing on this one so it ended up with 2 nodes under the plug.. cool to see how the roots shoot out from the node first.

Hard to tell with the cubes. Some roots popping out, but i don't know what it looks like inside the cube.

So, initial thoughts. I like the rooting gel. Seems to help. The clonex in the bucket also seems to help since there are (at least from what i can see) longer and more densely packed roots in the bucket, and only a few popped out of the cube. I need to do an experiment with better controls to really see what's up.

Took some cuts.. got a bit experimental. Lots of other plants allow you to root mutliple cuts off a single branch... so why not cannabis? Anyone else try it?

I’ve got a half dozen in cubes for the first time. I was using 2” pots and soil before that, with 100% success, but rooting sometimes felt a touch slow. Today I put 9 into 3/4” little pots with pro-mix that I sifted fine and added gently. They’re about the volume of a plug. I really enjoyed that and I’m pretty sure that‘s gonna be how I roll cuttings for a while..

As in grafting? I’ve got some Chem plants that I was thinking about using as rootstock for some Kush clones..

That's smart. I thing thats pretty much what these root riot cubes are made out of. Mostly just peat i think.

I'd be really interested to see successful cannabis grafts though! That would be awesome.
