They should be just fine under your kitchen or bathroom light for a couple hours if you got room. I've had to do this a few times myself and the plants don't seem to mind at all;-)
Hey guys! Time for a little update. Apparently, I was high as a giraffe's ass in a helicopter the first time I posted. I said the plants were 13 days old, but that's impossible. I just checked my grow log, and the plants are exactly 2 weeks old today. I got the new lights up today, which brings the total to 600W MH (until flower, then HPS), plus four 300 Watt fluoros vertical in each corner. It looks like the plants REALLY needed more powerful light. They look alive for the first time! It's about time to start 1/4 nutrients. Anybody have any recommendations for nutes compatible with FFOF? As of now I'm planning on getting Fox Farm's line, but I'd like to get the best possible, so I'm open for suggestions...
As always, thanks for the encouragement! You guys are making this grow MUCH easier. Be sure to stop back in with more advise!!!
hi bigjay420 ;)
I have one plant with this problem, and i think the soil is too much rich in Nitrogen but... other times, when there is a cold airflow directly to the plant, and poor humidity in the room with hot temperatures, it is the problem because the plant is not doing well perspiration.
@jayp- Thanks, pal. I ventilated the closet a bit til the fans arrive. Leaves are straight, now. Great advice. The little fellers are finally putting on some decent foliage. Will update on week 3.
Wow it`s been over 50 years ago when I planted my first seeds! I `m loving hearing new growers worries and concerns. It`s like reliving my own excitement all over again! Your doing great so far and seem to have good advice. My advise is learn from any mistakes you make along the way and keep doing. Also be careful of electrical and fire danger , make sure lights are secured and won`t fall or get close to water. put up a smoke detector if you don`t already have one up.
@mark- 50 years of growing is INSANE. I'll bet you have forgotten more about growing grass than I'll ever know! Thanks for the kind words. I have been worrying myself to death over these girls. Every day is a new adventure down insanity's path. lol Thanks for stopping by and throwing me some good advise. I'm sure I'll stop by your page to pick your brain, at some point. Take care!
@TommyK- Thanks for stopping over. Feel free to chime in with advise any time, my friend!
I'll be updating on Monday, the 10th (start of 3rd week). Stay tuned folks. And, as always... Cheers from the South!!!
Hey guys! I just checked the girls when i got home, and i think I have some major problems brewing. A few plants cotyledons are turning yellow. One plant has a purple stem. One has rust spots on a leaf. And one is super droopy. None are growing thick stems. I had to bury them deeper, so they wouldn't lean. I was having a heat issue... Not sure if that could be the problem. I'm enclosing some pics, so you fine folks can help diagnose this problem.
Most likely the heat causing slight Phosphorus, Magnesium and /or Manganese/ Nitrogen immobile. Increase venting and see if that works, If it doesn`t try a flush with weak but ballenced newts . It doesn`t look to bad ...yet!
@Mark- Thanks so much for the speedy response. I'm glad to hear that it's not too bad, because since I discovered it, I've been slowly dying inside. lol I hope I caught whatever it is early enough to fix it. Any nutes you recommend? My soil said I shouldn't need nutes until week 3 (which begins Monday), so I've yet to buy any...
The cotolydens will yeow and die no matter ya do. The cotolydens are like a nute stash for the seedling. I normally wont even feed a seedling until.they are beginning to yellow. Most nute bottles gives diff levels of feeding routines. Seedling and cutting mix would be the one to use.
Mark is right on all accouts. Deficiencies of phosphorus, manganese and/magnesium will ,aise the small rust colored spots in the early stages.
You may also wanna check the ph. Make sure you do.ALL ph adjustments AFTER you add nutes and /or
supplements. Also warer/feed till you get runoff and check it. You may need to flush it with ph adjusted ph water. Then do the light feeding.
Things dont look bad at all. Early stages of defifiencies or slightly acid ph. Hope everything goes good for youu and maybe these couple tips help . Peace bro.

I`d stay organic because chemical newts can be overdone so easy and because of taste in the end product. I make all my own newts from scratch but for a beginner I`d stick to a good premixed store bought. Maybe Earth Juice. Just make sure you start out with 1/4 to 1/3 strength solution.
