You're not kidding about not being so sure about the weather! Yesterday was in the mid-70s Fahrenheit, cloudy and humid. In the northern end of Central California at the end of MARCH. Now, you've gotta remember, March is typically our worst winter month. Then we were awakened around 1am by thunder and one hell of a lightening show (when storms hit the Sierra range and are forced up the gentle slope of the western scarp, they have lots of time to build lots of power, wind, moisture and electricity). Still gonna be in the low 70s today, during a time when I've regularly had snow on the ground.

I SO want to put everything out, at least in the greenhouse, but typically I must expect freezing weather, lots of rain, etc. Now I'm all upside down.

Let's raise a glass to a good year and a better harvest.
yeah that does sound pretty crazy, sounds cool tho, the uk is cold and boring :(

i think i just found a place with a light to start my seedlings for a month! il have two glasses! best of luck dude it should be a great year and i love having plants to tend to! nothing beets a smoke in your garden

as awesome as that sounds i think i would have to wait until i owned some land, witch i do but its tended to by my family who don't share as much interest for growing certain plants. are you from the uk? i would love to give a polly tunnel a go, i bet they trap alot of heat
they can be adjusted so that there isnt alot of heat trapped in

I have a feeling you are going to be disappointed again, so I would advise against spending money on seeds until you really are there to tend your seedlings. You can't just sprout something and leave it for 3 weeks in a greenhouse while you are gone, they will probably burn right up. a 1 week old seedling barely has their true leaves and are very fragile. I don't want to sound like a doomsday person, but I want you to succeed. :) My advice to you is to wait until you are back home..may is not too late!
why don't you buy an auto strain? Those are finished in 55 days from seed to finish. They don't get huge so they don't get spotted as easily, plus they finish before cops are looking.,and they produce at 5 oz per plant. (according to the pkg I got..I got some from attitude seeds as freebies)
It is very easy to find your last frost date. You can look up your area on the internet, very easy.

its all good fluffygrrrl, a friend has said its ok to use a light so the seeds will be tended to while im gone, then when i get back they will be nice and strong and they can go outside in the greenhouse. i laready have the seeds now because i had to order them to a diferent address.

i have tried autos before and i do like them, but i prefer watching a normal plant grow and tending to it for the entire season, plus i got some moby dick seeds so im really looking forward to seeing how much it can produce outside.

the last grow i did where i started the plants of indoors was such a success, so i think its fair to say this grow just got interesting :)

very cool setup, looks really nice to get in and out of. what strain is that you got there?

a few years back i was walking up to my spot and i noticed all this fencing, so i got some wire cutters and took a section and put it round a few plants, i also put some of that see through stuff round to get some heat during the flowering period when the temperature dropd. works like a charm!

yeah i think il be using UV or halogen lighting, i only want the plants indoors for just over a month so just something to give them a good start. i always assumed that lighting for flowering was way more important than lighting for veg

I would suggest using fluorescent simply for energy efficiency, just to get the seeds started. Beyond that, you're going to be using the natural light, yes? I mean, in my head that's the point of using a greenhouse instead of growing indoors.

yes of course, im just looking for a good way to start them of. im not sure what lighting my friend will use but i
trust his ability because he has grown indoors for a long time. we were talking bout buying a set of uv bulbs so it wont cost much.

so as it stands i think il be starting the plants of some time in the next few days, going back to uni, coming back in just over a month then starting my grow journal so you people over in cali can see how its done :) you gonna show your grow this year?

Not me, not after what happened. Possibly on a private site, but nothing that can be viewed by the general public. There may still be some pix on this server from grows in the past I've done. I had a guy who really loved the pix of my plants drying in the basement because he could see the insulation, thought that they had to have insulation all over 'em, and he snagged them and kept reposting them.

so besides the guy who reposted your pictures theres nothing else? just making sure you didn't have a tangle with the law, witch would surprise me due to your are being very liberal on the whole cannabis thing. i enjoy posting my pictures to this site so i can go back and look through, and i know where all the helpful comments are. sucks about that guy tho, i had that same thing on this art site i post my stuff to and its really pathetic, some people are crazy

I was attacked and robbed last November, my entire harvest of all 12 plants was taken, along with all my jewelry and other items. No trouble with the law, trouble with criminals.

and this was due to someone knowing where you lived from seeing your grow on this site? or was it just some random incident? thats just to bad sister, i got about 15 6week old plants taken from my first grow site, probably some old guy trying to rid the community of "drugs" but he sure cost me a lot of money.

Not directly from this site, but I am known both online and in real life (patient advocate). We're pretty sure it was a former neighbor, long story (there may still be the thread on it). I live in a rather small town-type of area where I thought I had a degree of security and anonymity that I clearly don't. If I get to feeling more secure, then I may share what I've got growing.
